Donna Jean Bricker
Donna Jean Tillock Bricker, 69, of Richland, WA, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2006, with her husband of 52 years and her family by her bedside.
Donna was born July 18, 1937, on her Grandparents Farm in Sarcoxie, MO, the only child of Russell Edward Tillock and Mary Etta Ledford Tillock.
It was in the 2nd grade at Banner Grammar School that she met her new friend Billy. Over the years they blossomed from friends to sweethearts and eventually married March 11, 1954, in Miami, OK.
In the spring of 1955, Bill, Donna, and the first of seven sons moved out west to Washington State. They fell in love with the Pacific Northwest, choosing to put down roots and raise their soon to be family of seven sons here.
In 1957, Donna joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Later, in 1963, they were sealed together as a family in the Logan, UT, Temple. Donna was a member of the Richland, WA, Stake, holding numerous and varied callings over the years.
Donna would best like to be remembered as a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She was known to be a meticulous dresser, taking great pride in the appearance of herself, her family, and her home. Her house was always decorated to reflect the season or holiday. Over the years she enjoyed hosting family gatherings, esp.: Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, birthdays, she made every occasion special. A Bricker family gathering was not complete without her homemade ice cream.
Donna is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, William McKinley Bricker, Jr., and her seven sons; Edwin L. Bricker & Family, Olympia, WA, Randall L. Bricker & Family, Benton City, WA, Kenton D. Bricker & Family, W. Richland, WA, William M. Bricker, III, and Family, Benton City, WA, Donald M. Bricker & Family, Phoenix, AZ, Richard A. Bricker, Kennewick, WA, and Devin L. Bricker & Family, Richland, WA, 33 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by both her parents; Russell Edward Tillock and Mary Etta Ledford Tillock Mumper.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 7, 2006, 4:00 p.m., at the Richland LDS Thayer Chapel, 1720 Thayer Dr., Richland, WA, with Grave Dedication to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, By-Pass, Richland, WA. All are welcome.
Friends may call on the family at Einans Funeral home, from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 6, 2006.
The family would especially like to thank Ms. Bernadette McBride and the kind and caring Staff of Tri-City Hospice, who have been such comfort at this time.
Bill Jr, Randy & the other members of the Bricker Family,
Sorry to read that your wife, Donna, and your Mother passed on! The few times I ran into your Wife & Mother, she was very kind, gracious and friendly. It is obvious that she was greatly loved and her physical presence, here on Earth, will be sorely missed. Hopefully the following quote I once read will help you at this time, “Grief is the price we pay for LOVE!”
Sincerely,
Lee Bush
