Edward ”Dale” Kirby
Our beloved husband, father, and friend passed away peacefully at his home on October 1, 2006. He was born December 13, 1942 to George and Louise Kirby in Hammond, IN. His family moved to Riverside, CA in the 1950s. He met his wife Marion in 1961 in Redlands, CA and got married in 1962. They were blessed with two children, Anita in 1963 and Jeffrey in 1965. They moved to Yucaipa, CA in 1964. For 17 years he worked as a production supervisor at Big Bear Board Products until the company closed. He went on to work at Grifco in Ontario, CA for 13 years. He then went on to Prudential Realty as a real estate broker. He really enjoyed working with people. In 1993, he and his wife moved to Richland, WA. He worked at Siemens Power Corporation in Richland for the Landlord Services at the plant and kept the plant in tip-top shape. He took great pride in his work there. He was incredibly well liked, and everyone was his bud or partner. He brought a smile to everyones face he talked to and touched. He retired in October 2004 to pursue his favorite hobby cooking. He loved to fish and took full advantage of the three rivers here. He was always inviting everyone he knew to fish with him. His true talent and passion was cooking. He wasnt just a cook he was a chef. He loved to see the pleasure on your face as you ate his food. He was such a funny guy and so incredibly fun to be around. He was extremely loved and will be terribly missed. He is survived by his life partner and soul mate of 44 years Marion, daughter Anita and her husband Bill Yucaipa, CA, son Jeffrey and girlfriend Jean Kelly Yucaipa, CA, granddaughters Amanda, Tara, Tiffany, and Acacia Yucaipa, CA, brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews and his best bud Joey his little French Bulldog. There will be no public service. He will be cremated and the family will have a private service.
Marion and family,
You were very fortunate to have such a great guy in your life. Sorry that he had to leave so soon. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Am happy Marion that you have moved to California so you will have your kids and granddaughters to help you through this hard time. Remember your good times. May God bless all of you.

Dale, your bright outlook on life ,family and friends will stick with me most. Your quick humor and ability to laugh at yourself and others is missing in this society. We so enjoyed the short time we had you in our lives and in mine especially..To Marion and your Family may the love that Dale had for you all be the glue that keeps you together tightly as you get through this tough time. Your Friend, DJ W.Richland
Marion and family,
No words can ease the loss you feel, but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
God Bless you all with the love you share. Let it be your strength.

I work in Licensing and Compliance at AREVA formerly Siemens and we have to do all sorts of things to maintain compliance with environmental regulations. Some of the things we need to do make sense–others don’t but still have to get done. Whenever we needed Dale to do something, he was always so accommodating. He just got it done without making you feel bad for having to ask for what was, in many cases, of little apparent value-added. He was truly a pleasure to work with. We miss him and can only imagine how much he will be missed by his family. They will be in my prayers.
My boys and I still remember the time he took us all out fishing. He was always such an upbeat person to be around.
It was my pleasure to work with Dale at Siemens. When you were with Dale he never failed to put a smile on your face. For example Dale once told us that he spent 4 years in the third grade. When we asked why he responded “Because I didn’t want to pass up my Mom.” Dale was a great guy and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

I had the enjoyment of knowing Dale when he worked for Framatome/Siemens. He was always happy and pleasant to work with. My condolences go out to his family.
I knew Dale through work. What a great guy and a pleasure to work with. If you wanted something done, and done with a smile and maybe a joke or two, all you had to do was give Dale a page. He was truly a good guy; My condolences for your loss.
His friendly smile and easy demeanor always put a smile on my face and a comfortable feeling in my heart.
I enjoyed knowing Dale while he worked with me at Siemens. He worked in landlord services but was knowledgeable beyond what his responsiblities might suggest. It was an honor to know him.
I am thankfull for having known and being associated with this wounderfull man. He brought much joy and laughter to the people he was around.
I will always remember Dale as a person of great love of his fellow men and one person I am proud to have had as a frend.
To: Dale’s family and friends,
During my time at Siemens Power Corp./AREVA in Richland, Dale was always an exemplary employee. He was eager to do whatever he could to help out in any situation and did his normal work with a strong commitment to the Company’s mission/values and attention to detail.
