Louise K. Owings

Louise Owings, beloved wife, mother, sister, friend, and long time member of the Othello community, passed away peacefully on the evening of October 12, 2006 in Kadlec Medical Center. Her incredible faith and positive spirit enabled her to take on the treatment of leukemia without a moments hesitation. She loved all of her care givers, and after 67 days of hospitalization she seemed to have captured their hearts as well. Louise was born and raised in Lodi California. Following a brief tour as a TWA flight attendant stationed in New York city, she finally agreed to marry Dick Owings who had been pursuing her with daily dedication for over a year. In December of this year Dick and Louise were looking forward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. She was an incredible mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by; her son David Owings, wife Karen, their children Jeff, Amy, and Mack of Ketchikan, Alaska, daughter Diane Owings and her long time love Bill Bruner of Monroe, Washington, and her daughter Lisa Langston, husband Michael, and their daughters Madi and Tess of Missoula, Montana. She also treasured the love and affection of her brother Donald Mencarini of Cameron Park, California. Louise has lived in Othello for the past 24 years. She loved this community and the many friends she made here. In particular, she held the members of her long standing prayer group very close to her heart. A celebration of her life will be held at the Othello Nazarene Church - Gathering Place , on Sunday October 22, at 1p.m. To honor her life, Louise would simply ask that if you find someone in need, give them a hug.
