Edith was a Registered Nurse graduating from the Silver Cross Hospital School of Nursing in Joliet, IL and worked in nursing almost all of her life, not retiring until she was 78. Edith was an avid baseball and basketball fan and Richland Bomber supporter. The whole family traveled to all Bomber basketball games in the 50's and 60's and had reserved seats for home games until the mid 1990's. She also gave physicals to Richland High athletes during the summer for many years.
~ Edith loved living by the Columbia River in Richland and walked two to three miles along the river every day until she was in her 80's.
Her parents, her husband, Edwin Quigley, and seven of her nine brothers and sisters preceded Edith in death. Edith is survived by her brother, James Vaughan of Lynchburg, VA, her sister Annabelle Agee of Richmond, VA; her son, Edwin J. Quigley, Jr. of Salmon Beach, WA; her daughter, Elaine Davis Charles of Richland and numerous nephews and nieces.
Edith's family would like to thank the staff at the Guardian Angel in Richland for their care and support during her last months and Dr. Eric Isaacson for his wonderful care over the past several years.

A memorial service will be held at Richland Lutheran Church Thursday November 16th at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to a charity of your choice.
Lainy and Ed,
I think it was time for your mom to move on. She was sort of burned out on what we had to offer anyway. We trust the next experiences
will have some improvements to what we know currently; more humor, less pain, good bread, good cheese, good wine
and a roomfull of friends. We
wouldn’t ask for anyone’s heaven to be any more than this.
Dear Elaine and Ed,
For your mom, I am glad this is over. For you both, I know this leaves a huge hole in your hearts. I am hopeful that time will help replace the pain with wonderful memories of time shared. Elaine, you have been all you could be to your mom– no one could’ve done more- I hope you find comfort in that. My mom still tells me that Edith was the first person she met when she arrived in Richland on a cold November morning from New York in 1949!
My sincere condolences to the Quigley Families…
Gary Behymer
Elaine, Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your mom.
When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.
Wonderful nurse, with a great smile. She will be missed.
Dear Elaine and Eddie:
I am so sorry to hear about Edith’s passing. When I lived with Grandma and Grandpa I used to love it when Edith came to Lynchburg to visit. She was so full of life and beautiful. The obituary you wrote is very nice. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. If you ever get back to Virginia to visit, I hope we will have a chance to visit.
