Pearl Naoma Richardson

PEARL NAOMA RICHARDSON, age 92, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2006 at the Avalon Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pasco, Washington. She was born June 10, 1914 to George and Violet Alexander in Silver City, Iowa.

Pearl married John Leon Richardson on April 11, 1931, and they lived for many years in various locations along the Union Pacific Railroad line in Nebraska, ending up in Omaha, Nebraska where they eventually retired. Pearl and John made their final move in 1984 to Pasco.

Pearl started working as a nurse's aide in Nebraska in the late 1940's. Having a 10th grade education, she was proud to get her GED and to acquire her Licensed Practical Nurse certification in the late 1950's. She worked as an OB nurse and was present in the delivery room at the birth of three of her grandchildren in Omaha.

Pearl is survived by 3 daughters: Ruth Wisler of Walton, Indiana, Elaine Akerson and Benita Flaherty, both of Pasco; 10 grandchildren: John Wisler of Moorpark, California, Craig Wisler of Walton, Indiana, Jeffery Wisler of Mishawaka, Indiana, Denise Ireland of Issaquah, Washington, Cheryl Forbes of Seattle, Washington, Wayne Akerson of Spencer, Indiana, Diane Hamlin of Finley, Washington, Eileen Flaherty of Burbank, California, Shawn Flaherty of Spokane, Washington, and Damian Flaherty of Tucson, Arizona; and all their spouses and 24 great grandchildren.

Special thanks go to Pearl's care providers she has had over the past years - Mary Lou, Linda, Michele, Connie, Maria and Yvonne - A job well done with love.

Pearl was preceded in death by both parents and her sister and brother. Pearl was a member of Desert Springs Covenant Church of Pasco. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Desert Springs Covenant Church Building Fund; PO Box 2486, Pasco, WA 99301.

Services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 25th, at College View Baptist Church at 2100 W. Agate, Pasco.
