Jeanne Elaine Witeck
Jeanne E. Witeck passed away December 30, 2006 at her home at Alterra Wynwood, Richland, Washington. She was 81 years old. She was born in Fort Madison, IA to parents Don and Daisy Henshaw on January 18, 1925. She graduated from Fort Madison High School June 1942.
Jeanne was married to Eugene F. Witeck for 25 years and even though they divorced, she remained positive and thoughtful of their years together. She was a retired retail sales clerk for Mervyns for many years and worked as a grocery checker, telephone operator, and telephone answering service representative. She was also a security screener at John Wayne Airport in California.
Upon coming to Richland, Jeanne was active in the Richland Newcomers and Contact Helpline organizations. Always an ''amazing trooper'' in her failing health, Jeanne loved getting together with her family at holiday dinners and special events. She loved seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and wanted them all to know how much she loved them and how proud she was of them. She was also very proud of her sons and their accomplishments and purpose in life. A very direct, honest, and fun person, Jeanne had many fun times with her friends at her home at Alterra Wynwood and also with her bridge club pals. She will be missed by all.
Jeanne is survived by her sons, Donald E. Witeck, Charleston, SC; Mark J. Witeck, M.D., Kenosha, WI; Steven J. Witeck, Wife, Tracy, Kennewick, WA; Grandsons: Christopher S. Witeck wife Jen; Jason Witeck wife Lauren; Granddaughters: Erica B. Barclay husband Chad; Shannon Gregory husband Bennet; and five greatgrandchildren: Ally, Katy, Carter, Casey and Corinne - ''We'll miss you Great-Gramma Jeanne - but know you'll feel better in Heaven.''
Jeanne was preceded in death by: parents: Don and Daisy Henshaw; brothers: Dean Henshaw, Norm Henshaw; and Son: Patrick L. Witeck.
Viewing is Friday, January 5, 2007 at 4:30 p.m. until after the funeral service which begins at 6:00 p.m. at Einan's Funeral Home, 915 By-Pass Highway, Richland, WA.

Dr. Witeck you are in our thoughts and prayers
Steve and family,
I am sorry to hear of Jeanne’s passing. I know that the past few months have not been kind to the Witecks. I still feel blessed to have had all of you in my life. I visited Jeanne on several occasions with Patrick. She had a very strong Witeck spirit. Take care of you and yours and God Bless.
Robert Lyons
We send our sincere sympathy to the family of Jeanne Witeck. She will be missed at the bridge table by many of her friends. She was a joy to have as a partner or opponent. We all learned from Jeanne about life as well as bridge.
Sincerely, Eleanor and Sam
Our thoughts and Prayers are with you. Jeanne was a wonderful woman.
