Grace Wickstrom Mattson passed away peacefully February 19, 2007 at home surrounded by her family. She was born Grace Lillian Janke in Odanah Wisconsin January 1, 1916 to James and Anna Janke. Grace married long time sweetheart John Wickstrom from a neighboring town, Washburn in 1936. After 39 years of a loving marriage, a daughter, grandson, countless friends and family, Grace buried John Wickstrom in 1975. Ten years later Grace re-married a long time family friend Paul Mattson. After 3 happy years of marriage Paul passed away in 1988.
Her lifetime career was that of a caregiver, wife, mother, grandmother, guide & friend. Grace was a born volunteer, giving her time, money, and love to anyone who needed it. She was active in the community working the election polls, food drives, various church activities, Richland Senior Association, Kadlec Auxiliary, Red Cross and many others. She also loved the Oregon coast and spent many vacations there with her family and friends.

Graces name says it all. She had grace, lived, loved and moved with grace. Everyone who knew her loved her; she could make anything better with just a kind work or hug. She will be especially missed by Robs friends who call her Gram and the many friends she has made over her 91 years. We have all lost a great Mother, Grandmother and Friend. She was the light of all of our lives. Her smile and laughter will live on forever in our hearts.
Memorial services will be held at Einans in Richland, Saturday the 24th of February at 10:00am.
