DOLORES DEE MCCOY Richland, Washington Einan's Funeral Home
Dolores Dee McCoy, of Richland, passed away on March 24, 2007 surrounded by her loving family. Dee was born on March 14, 1939 in Billings, Montana, the eldest of seven children of Edwin and Anna Bender. She grew up in the Yakima area where she excelled through her high school years, consistently at the top of her class. She worked for many years at Battelle-Hanford as an executive secretary.
She used this experience to co-own several successful businesses with her husband of 48 years, Patrick. Although she was proud of their businesses, her proudest achievement was her family.
Dee developed a love for golf and joined Meadow Springs Country Club where she enjoyed many friendships as a member of the women's '18-holers'.
Dee will be missed greatly by her husband Pat, son Dan and wife Helen McCoy, daughter Lynne and husband Jaime Henifin, and daughter Laurie McCoy; her grandchildren Kellie and Jonathan Patterson, Jace, Zack and Jessica Henifin, Logan McCoy and Tyler Schrag; parents Edwin and Anna Bender; sisters Faith Wentz John, Dorothy BurtonIke and Connie Wright; brothers Miles Bender Norma and Tim Bender Ann; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Ida McCoy as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her sister Sandra Vander Weerd and her father and mother-in-law Hugh and Bessie McCoy.
Dee was a loving and gracious wife, mother, grandmother and friend who left us all too soon. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dee's personal caregivers, Canyon Lakes Restoration Center and Hospice, all of whom served Dee and the family tenderly.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 27 at Einan's Funeral Home, Richland from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Richland at 2:00pm.
Pat and family,
We are so sorry for your loss
and wish to extend our deepest
sympathy. Dee was a very nice
person and know that she will
be missed.
My heart is so very heavy and sad for all the family members at this time. It is hard for me to express all my thoughts and emotions. I have known the family for 30 years. Such a wonderful group of people–always made me to feel like I was part of their family probably like many of you who know them. Dee was always so friendly and nice to me when ever I saw her. Dee was truly a wonderful, gracious and vibrant woman. You can see so much of her in Dan, Lynne and Laurie. Please accept my deepest sympathies at the loss of your mother. Nancy

To Pat and family,
We will always remember the fond memories Dee and I shared together on and off the golf course. Those many trips to Lewiston, Id. and our promise we would laugh no matter how bad we played. Her never ending smile will never fade away from my heart. She was always willing to share her family with wonderful zest in her voice. She was so proud of all of you.
Her grandchildren meant so much to her. Thank you for sharing her with us.
