From Richland, WA, US | Born in Tacoma, Washington
Jeffrey T. Berg
Jeffrey T. Berg of Richland passed away on March 18 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Tacoma on September 11, 1955, the youngest son of Robert and Dolores Berg. Jeff graduated from Columbia High School in 1973 and Columbia Basin College in 1976. He worked for Tri-River Chemical of Pasco for many years, and for the past 6 years had been a local representative for the Amvac Chemical Company of Los Angeles.
Jeff always enjoyed his work and his family, particularly all the frequent camping trips with the kids to neat places like Wallowa Lake. He relished the renewal of joy of the last 8 years with his loving wife Laura, all those trips around the Northwest with her as well as all those little weekend escapades around the country.
Jeff is survived by wife Laura Berg, Richland; daughters Kelsey Berg, Plummer ID, and Kathryn Berg, Salem, OR; stepdaughters Chelsea Dyer, Richland and Heather Roll, Kennewick; stepson Curtis Dyer of Kennewick; sister Barbara Beil, Jacksonville, FL; brothers David Berg of Bonney Lake, WA and Monte Berg of Sunriver, OR; and his very special stepmother, Rosina Shaw of Tacoma, WA.
Services will be held at Einan's Funeral Home in Richland on March 31 at 3pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either Hospice of the Chaplaincy, 2108 W. Entiat Ave., Kennewick, W A. 99336, or Tri-Cities Cancer Center, 7350 W. Deschutes Ave., Kennewick, WA.
Laura,
I was so sorry to hear about Jeff. There are no words to make it better, but please know that you have many friends who have you in their thoughts and prayers. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. Also, please remember to take time for yourself. With so much to do and so many to look after, you may forget to look after yourself. Love and Hugs! Pam
You were my rock, my shelter from life’s storms. You came into my life when my heart was heavy, and with your steadfast love allowed my soul to fly. I miss my partner, my lover, my friend.
Kelsey and Kathryn,
Duston and I want to tell you how truly sorry we are that you have lost your father at such an early age. We know that he loved you very much and you will miss him greatly. We haven’t heard from you since you moved away, but you have always been in our thoughts and prayers. Please accept our condolences,
Duston and Gail Hammerberg
I have known and done business with Jeff for many years. At one point he was a competitor and later a supplier to our company. I have always had high regard for Jeff and the way he conducted himself. I will miss Jeff and was very sorry to learn of his passing. My regards to his family in this difficult time.
Laura and Family. My deepest condolences. Myself and Tom Hoffmann with WSDA-PMD in the last few years worked closely with Jeff. He made us feel we were a real part of the soil fumigation stewardship team. I specially enjoyed my visit with him in Mattawa at the end of January, yet I was unaware his condition. He always communicated in a manner that indicated to me that he was Christian. I always enjoyed working with him. My prayers are for our Lord Jesus’s comfort to you and the family in your loss. The Ag industry has lost a great colleague as well.
My job involves only international business, I have very little contact with the USA business of AMVAC. In 2005 I was assigned to a project leaded by Jeff; for several months we interacted via conference calls and once the project was final he was the speaker of our team. We were so proud of the excelent job he did!. He not only put together a very precise and practical plan, he also delivered the best presentation at the annual meeting. My admiration was followed by a not close but sincere friendship. As we all recover from the shock of the early departure of a young and highly appreciated colleague, I am sure that there will be consolation on the memories of good times and good deeds. Sincerely,
Alfredo Pelaez

My deepest symphathy to Jeff’s friends and relatives. I will certainly miss Jeff. He was the most intelligent man I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Most people with such an intelligence are lacking in other areas of their life. I never found this to be so of Jeff. He had a marvelous sense of humor that at times made me laugh till I cried!! Jeff also had common sense and strong values, something that is not found often enough in other men. As an employer, he was just, fair and honest in all his dealings. His time was entirely too short with us.
Well, I’m kind of speechless, since it just happened so quickly. I’ll always be thinking of you, and ill miss you forever. I loved you, and now part of me is missing, and i wish i could have shown that i loved you more.
