Donna Lee Sadler

Small in stature, but huge in spirit. That was Donna Lee Dyer Sadler. A wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Donna died peacefully at home on April 3, 2007. Ray, her loving husband of 50 years, was by her side. Donna lived her 77 years with a generous heart, a love for family and friends, and great courage in the face of challenges. One of her greatest challenges was living the last 39 years with rheumatoid arthritis. Though the disease was painful and deteriorated her body, she remained focused on living her life in spite of it.

Donna was born to Marie and Ray Dyer in Tekoa, Washington, on August 26, 1929, and enjoyed growing up one of ten children. After graduating from high school and embarking on her working life, Donna found herself relocating to Dayton, Washington, to work for friends. From there, she eventually pursued employment with General Electric in Richland, Washington. Once hired, Donna enjoyed the government life living in Women's Dormitory W5 and spending time with friends. While out with friends in October of 1955, Donna was introduced to Ray Sadler. Less than a year later, the two were married and remained so for the past 50 years. Daughter Susan was born in 1957, followed by Tami two years later. Donna remained home raising the girls and maintaining a spotless home. Donna’s hobbies over the years included reading and creating beautiful ceramic pieces treasured by those gifted.

Donna is survived by husband Ray; daughters Susan Glover Greg and Tami Sadler Jim Lindsay; grandchildren Ashley, Nicklas, James, and Michelle; great-grandchildren Austin, Allison, and Amaya; brother Ron; and sisters Lois, Bev, and Jean; and a special friend of 45 years, Phyllis Flagor. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Russ, and sisters Helen, Colleen, Betty, and Gerrie.

Funeral services for Donna will be held on Friday April 6, 2007 at 11:00am at Einan’s Funeral Home in Richland with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Viewing is scheduled for Thursday April 5, from 5:00pm -8:00pm at Einan’s Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions in Donna's name may be made to the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice in Kennewick, 2108 W. Entiat Ave, Kennewick, WA 99336.
