Emery Charles Casey

Emery C. Casey, 81, of Richland passed away July 28, 2007 in Richland. He was born August 26, 1925 in Walla Walla and grew up in Waitsburg, Washington.

He served in the Marine Corp during WWII and moved to Richland after the war. Here he met and married Ann Buecher in 1949. Emery had a 40-year career on Hanford Patrol and retired in 1987 from Rockwell Hanford Company. After retirement, Emery enjoyed meeting friends at the Spudnut Shop, riding his bicycle, and playing cribbage with friends at the Richland Senior Center.

Emery was a kind and patient father and grandfather who felt truly blessed by the presence of his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Casey; son Paul Casey and wife Kathy; son-in-law Al Walker; grandchildren Adam and Marcus Casey, Brian and wife Katie Walker, Karen and Michael Walker; great-granddaughter Madeleine Walker. He was preceded in death by daughter Nancy C. Walker.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Christ the King Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Richland. A reception will follow at Knights of Columbus in Richland. Vigil service with viewing will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, August 3, 2007 at Einan’s Funeral Home.

  • Our deepest sympathies go to you Paul, and all of your family. Your father was an inspirational man, firm but fair as I found out working for him in the late seventies. I worked for no better in my career with Hanford Patrol. I’m truly sorry for your loss and feel the same, as I lost my father 2 years ago. I know someday we will be reunited with them.
