Aric Christopher Chris Culver, 34, Contemporary Worship Arts Director at Central United Protestant Church died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 22, 2007. Chris is survived by his wife Danielle, sons Jacob, Samuel and Jonas and daughter Grace. He is the son of Rev. Mac and Barbara Culver of Kent, WA and brother of Rev. Andrew Culver of Spokane, WA. Chris was born in Baltimore, Maryland and has lived in the Tri-Cities since 2000.
Chris was a gifted musician and songwriter, with a passion for worshipping the Lord. He was a humble, loving man with a wry sense of humor and the ability to touch the hearts of those around him.
An informal celebration of Chris life, including a time of worship, will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 10:00am at Central United Protestant Church, 1124 Stevens Drive, Richland, WA.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for the benefit of his children has been established at GESA Credit Union.
To the Culver Family, We are also sending our love and prayers to you and your family. Chris was amazing to watch in the service and brought out what worship should be. It was also wonderful to serve with him by doing the Multimedia during the service. May God continue to support your family in every way.
With our sincere love and prayers.
The Cadd Family
We know you are up in Heaven celebrating the biggest event of all times the Wedding of Christ and his church.
We will see you again when the saints come down to establish Christ’s Kingdom.
Our prayers will continue for your family.
Till we meet again.

I enjoyed working with Chris on the multimedia team. He had a relaxed style and a great sense of humor which he used very effectively to reduce tensions in the often stressful period before a service. Chriss humor was mixed with an unparalleled reverence for God and devotion to worshiping Him with his musical talent that was expressed at every service. I regret any additional stress my unexpected departure from the multimedia team may have caused him in an already highly stressful work environment. My thoughts and prayers are with Danielle and the children in this time of grief. May God bless, comfort, and strengthen all of you during this trying time.
We were so sorry to hear the news about Chris. I never met Chris but I work at Columbia Community Church as office manager and know the importance of the worship pastor. Please be assured of our prayers for you and your children as you go through each day. Know the Lord is there carrying you through these tough days. Draw upon Him who gives you strength & comfort just when we need it!
Take care!

I also did not know Chris, but am deeply touched by his sudden and unexpected death. I have a son about the same age, who is also a musician, but struggles with having Faith – I dearly wish he could have met this Man after God’s own heart. I will be praying for Chris’s young family, parents and brother as they struggle through this loss. God is near. Cindi E.
Although we did not know Chris,we wish him all of our Love on his journey, and to his place in Heavon
So sorry to hear of Chris’s passing. He was a talented young man and I will always remember playing with him and my own brother in Kent. God bless you all and may you be comforted by His great love for you.

I know life is short and to make a difference for the Lord is our main goal, Chris did this with flare. He was a full of life, loving the Lord individual and worship leader. He will be missed! He is in Heaven singing for the Lord – “Playing for an audience of One”. Thanks Chris for making my life easier the day you provided me with updated version of the song you were singing at Sunday service. I now wish I had volunteered earlier to be the multi-media person for the contemporary service. Your family is in my prayers. Faith
to chris’s dear family…
we are so sad for your loss of chris and all he has meant to you..trusting god to watch over you everyday and in every detail and to bring His promised peace and comfort that He only can give totally…i can’t help but smile when i think of chris as he was always being funny and cracking jokes and making everyone around him feel better and smiling…i bring treats to ted brown every saturday and that is where i met chris and darrell knew him thru music. one time when i brought in a treat that chris really liked he renamed it as the “gooy gob of goodness” and that day i remember going home and writing that down on the bottom of my recipe card..now i have that to remind me of him….he did touch people’s lives and left us with laughter and smiles…may god’s continued healing be yours…darrell and vanesa
My greatest memory of Chris came at a piano lesson. I was the teacher; he was the student. I thought it would be good to teach him how to read a chord chart. Truthfully, Chris was struggling with playing the written notes. When I taught him the praise and worship song using the chords only, it was like all the lights went on!!! It was impossible to put him back into “reading the notes” after that! Mac, Barbara, Andy & Danielle, I wish I could be there at this time, but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, and I will be celebrating Chris’ life in my own way in Beijing! Love you ~ Janie o/
On behalf of Lana and I and the whole Columbia Community Church family, we want to express our deepest sympathies to Chris’s family and our brothers and sisters at Central. You are in our hearts, our thoughts, and our prayers.

Danielle & Family,
Please accept out deepest sympathy.
From the great distance of both time and miles,
it trumpets the depth and breadth of your character and grace,
to have so saddened the heart of such a sinner as I.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time…please know you are not alone.
Chris, Had an amazingly unique gift from God, and with passion, he uniquely gave it right back, he drew lifes closer to Jesus.
Through Chris’s and his music we could go deeper into God’s presence, he was a “TRUE MAN OF GOD”, who will be missed by many, but will always have a places in our hearts, but this it just the beginning, see you soon my brother…
Your Friend, Shaun
I never got the opportunity to know Chris outside of the worship service at church, but he deeply impacted my life through his music and his inspirational presence. He was such a blessing to my christian faith and through his death I have found a new hunger for the lord and passion for the church. I will always be forever grateful to Chris for his inspiration in my heart. I will miss him dearly, but remember him forever.
We are sending our love and prayers to you and your family! We love you!
I had the opportunity to be part of the Worship Service just before Chris went to be with Jesus- I remember leaving the service thinking Wow! this man has an annointing: I am sorry for the loss and am continuing to pray for you all who are missing him. This has really ministered to me how we can touch someones life in just a moments time – even if it be for an hour ,a month a year.. the effect is their for a lifetime- Here’s looking forward to worship again in a better place forever!!
