Dorothy Margaret Hahn

Dorothy Margaret Hahn was born Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 1914 to Lillian and John J. Kerr in Rochester, MN. She passed away on August 2, 2007 in Kennewick, WA at the age of 92.

After graduating from Rochester High School she worked with her father drafting the plans to construct Silver Lake near the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. She met Kenneth J. Hahn and they married on December 25, 1939 in Pine Island, MN. They were married for 37 years at the time of his death in 1976. They moved to Richland in 1951 and she was a homemaker until she went to work as an Underwriter for Prudential Insurance Co., she later became the City Clerk/Treasurer for West Richland, Accountant for Kennewick Housing Authority, City Clerk/Treasurer for Cascade Locks, and worked as an Accountant for Pasco Housing Authority until her retirement.
She was a member of Kennewick First Presbyterian Church. She was a trained Stephen Minister and a volunteer for the Tri-City Chaplaincy counseling widows and widowers. She was past matron of Roza Eastern Star Chapter no. 238. She was a volunteer for the Mid-Columbian Symphony Guild. She was called a hero by the Tri-City Herald after saving a young mans life by rushing him to the hospital after he injured himself in a skateboarding accident.

She leaves behind her sister Marion Standiford of Mesa, AZ. Daughter Patricia Twitchell and son-in-law Merlin of Everett, WA., daughter Marilyn Sherk and son-in-law Larry of Naselle, WA., and son Kenneth M. Hahn and wife Anna of Kennewick, WA. Grandson Steven Twitchell and wife Rebecca of Renton, WA., Karen Twitchell of Everett, WA., Kristin Helton and husband Darrin of Snoqualmie Pass, WA., Joseph and Catherine Hahn of Kennewick, WA. Great-grandchildren Allysia, Jordan, Brianna, and Matthew Helton, and Elizabeth and John Twitchell, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be August 6, 2007 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Einan’s Funeral Home in Richland, WA. Graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on August 7, 2007 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland, WA., followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. at the Kennewick First Presbyterian Church.
