William Leon Dotson, III
William Leon Dotson III of Kennewick, WA passed away on August 6, 2007. He was born April 11, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas. William was an active member of the Boy Scouts and the Explorer Scouts while growing up on a military base. He went to college at Allen Hancock Community College and Orange County Community College. Later he joined the Navy WESTPAC and toured to Viet Nam aboard USS Richard S. Edwards DD 950.
He became involved in Brooks Institute of Photography and then owned a photo business in Petaluma, California. William worked in Portland, Oregon than Florida. He transferred to the Seattle area and retired in Spanaway, Washington. William then made Kennewick his home a year and half ago.
He is survived by father, William Leon Dotson, and brother, Claude Walter Dotson.

My name is Karen and my husband and I met BillD online about a year ago. We want to offer you our deepest sympathy for your loss. BillD quickly became a close friend and my husband and I are very sad over his sudden death. We want to let you know we feel compassion for your loss. In honor of your Son and Brother, I have written a composition for him. I would like to share it with you as it may give some insight to just what BillD did with his online friends : A Tribute To Our Friend BillD He wandered in sometime back. Liked what he saw and dropped his sack. Said he ‘just wanted to fit in’ . Felt like he’d ‘found his next of kin’. He drew us in one by one. And could always connect with a song : There he stood by the door greeting one and all. He helped us adjust and somehow not fall. He was our friend, he always helped. Even when we fussed and yelped ;p He helped us connect ,update and fix. He always had something in his bag of tricks : ‘BillD is Listening to—–>’ became our call. To come out and talk, take a stall. With his funny dry wit he kept us laughing. Don’t think he cared too much for rappin’ ;p He helped us to ‘Dance’, ‘Jam’ and ‘Listen’. Excuse me for my eyes do glisten. He grew on us right from the start. BillD will forever be in our heart. He has journeyed ahead, knows what’s in store. He just wants to be there to open the door : We Miss You BillD! GOD Bless You!
To my friend of many years. To my friend who is one of a kind…you had to love him with all his ways. To my friend i will miss very much…I’ll drink a glass of wine and look to the stars just so you can say “winer” to me..lol..and scold at me for something because you care…lol…my thoughts will be with you…even through a keyboard and a phone you have touched my heart and taught me alot. As with many of us here, I met Bill online, sharing music, many laughs and even some strong differences of opinion.
He affectionately called me Spidey and I called him Uncle Bill. When sending him a virtual hug he would reply “ya ya ya”, and I would laugh. That was Bill, hard on the outside but a real softie on the inside :

Bill was a good friend to myself and many others…He loved music and was always offering to share his love for it. He knew computers and would offer his help to me and others. He was known in my music site as Billd…Well Billd you are missed and will be missed…Thank you for being a good friend to me..Bills passing has shocked me..I didnt know he was that ill. Bill was a friend to me and a great help. He spent his precious time teaching me things to protect me from harm from the music hubs and went out of his way on many occasions to just help and be a friend. He was gracious, and kind to me. I trusted and adored him and am so sad. I thought he would be back soon. I am sorry for his loved ones and i will miss him and never forget his kindness. I will not forget him.
