  • I was very saddened to hear the news.

Karen was one of the sweetest, most pleasant people I’ve worked with at Battelle. An absolute pleasure to work with Karen!

All of us in the 300 area will miss her greatly.

  • Selina,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, your sisters and families. Your mother was an exceptional gal. We thoroughly enjoyed working with her. It was always especially nice to hear her talk about her girls; you could see her tremendous love for you all in her face. What a special relationship you must have had. Of the two of us, Paul really got to work the closest to your mom. He often remarked about her great sense of humor. Such a great spirit will be missed by all.

  • What a woman touched our lives! How blessed we are for having a friend and co worker like Karen at Battelle. Cheery each day, a ready smile or laugh at lifes twists and turns. I will miss hoping to run into Karen around. I know she is cheering for all of us from above, and watching over her family, as always! We were all blessed to have been touched by her energy and that wonderful smile.

  • I met Karen while working at Battelle. She was the janitor in my building. Each day we would talk about different things and share information on our daughters. My daughter went to school in Benton City. Sara Hynes Karen was such a lovely sweet person. I did not know she had been ill. Karen will definitely be missed. I will think about her everytime I drive into Benton City and pass by her house.
