Ruth Luella Schienle Davenport

Ruth Schienle Davenport, 77, of Richland, died Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. She was born September 20, 1930 in Beaver Falls, PA. Ruth graduated from Munhall High School in 1948.

Ruth married Willy “Shy” Schienle on February 26, 1949. Shy preceded her in death on April 17, 1992. After moving from PA to Tacoma, WA in 1962, she worked as a telephone operator until retirement.

Ruth loved to camp and fish with her family at the Cispis and enjoyed many football Sundays betting with her family. Ruth had many friends with the Astro CB Club, Moose Lodge of West Richland, and her pinochle club, which she started in the Tri-Cities in the early 1960’s.

After remarrying in 1993, Ruth and Charlie Davenport enjoyed the winters traveling across the country.

One of Ruth’s greatest moments was catching the 40-lb King Salmon with her husband Shy.

Ruth was a wonderful cook! She loved to cook for her kids and grandkids. She will be greatly missed!

Ruth is survived by her children Linda Flett of West Richland, Sam Schienle of Wamego, KS, Jack Schienle of Richland and Traci Soper of Long Beach, WA. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandkids, as well as by her brother Bill and Loretta Fraser of West Richland.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 24, 2007 at Einan’s Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Saturday and Sunday 4:00-8:00 PM, also at Einan’s Funeral Home.
