Growing up on Winslow in Richland I had many things to be thankful for and having Floyd and Eula our neighbor was one of them. One day my Sister Daisy and I caught a cat in a snare, well to make a long story short…this cat went nuts, latching on to Daisy’s leg just biting a clawing. Floyd heard the commotion and ran out to rescue us. With a glove on his hand he managed to free the cat and save my sis from further injury and me from seeing the end of a switch. He also had a crabapple tree in his backyard that was great for us kids to play in, Floyd didn’t mind in fact there were times he was up in the tree with us. I was always envious of His tan during the summer months, water skiing kept him in great shape. For Christmas one year he decided to be just a little different, instead of the traditional Christmas tree he and Eula decided to decorate a tumble weed…it came out great! Painted it siver and hung lights and ornaments all over it. Such great memories of Floyd. My condolences to the family.
