Thomas Tom Philip St. George, age 74, passed away on January 17, 2008 in Richland Washington after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends.
Tom was born July 25, 1933 in Bagley, Minnesota to Joseph St. George and Elizabeth McPherson. He was the sixth of eight children. He joined the U.S. Army at a young age and shortly after his discharge returned to his hometown, where he met the love of his life, Mary Jane Dilley. They were married on April 23, 1955 in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
They soon moved to Pensacola, Florida, where their son Ronald was born in 1962. After a period of time, they moved back to Minnesota where their daughter Cindra was born in 1967. In May of 1970, Tom transplanted the family to West Richland, Washington.
Tom continued his career in automotive body repair. He was the Owner / Operator of the ABC Industries body shop in West Richland.
Tom was an active member of the West Richland Moose Lodge for over 33 years, and until recently was a regular participant in weekly dart tournaments held there. He was also a member of the Pasco Eagles Lodge. He was an outdoor enthusiast and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. His love and respect for the outdoors were one of his many great traits that he passed on to his family.
Tom was a devout member of the Christ the King parish since 1970. He and Mary Jane were regular faces at the Saturday night mass.
Tom’s family remained the focus of his life throughout his retirement years. He loved and treasured his wife of over 52 years, Mary Jane, and had a special and loving bond with his granddaughters Madeleine and Emma. They brought him much joy and happiness.
He is survived by his wife Mary Jane, son Ronald St. George Brandon Davis of Seattle, daughter Cindra Bingham James Bingham of Richland, and Granddaughters Madeleine and Emma Bingham of Richland.
A funeral mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church Monday, January 21, 2008 at 10:00 am, with a graveside service to follow. A reception will be held at the Moose Lodge in West Richland.
Mary Jane, Ron, Cindy and families. I was so sad to hear of Uncle Tom’s passing. I wish that we would have lived closer to each other so that we could have known him and you all better. You have often been in my thoughts and prayers since I found out about Tom’s illness and you will continue to be through this difficult time. With love from your family in Minnesota.
Love Lynette, Mark

MaryJane, Ronnie and Cindy and families,
Even though we couldn’t make the trip to Washington I just wanted to let you know you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
Tom was a wonderful person. I’m always telling my boys stories about him going out with pack horses and hunting and how he was in the middle of a lake when Mt. St. Helens erupted.
Just know you are all in our thoughts.
Love Jennell, Kyle and Mike Horton
