Mary ”Peggy” Helen McAndrew
Mary Peggy McAndrew, age 90, passed away Feb. 1, 2008 with her family by her side.
Peggy was born on September 3, 1917 in Pueblo, CO to John and Mayme Dillon Stewart.
Peggy was educated in the Trinidad, CO schools and took business courses at the Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, MO.
She began her career in a civil service position with the U.S. Food Distribution Administration, where she worked for four years. In 1940, she met Edward Mac McAndrew, Jr at a dance pavilion in an amusement park in Denver, CO. They were married May 1st, 1943.
After the end of WWII and Mac was discharged from the Army, Peggy & Mac moved to the Tri-Cities. They have been residents of Richland since 1948. Peggy worked as a secretary for both GE and Exxon. She retired from Exxon in 1985.
Peggy enjoyed reading and caring for her house and family. She had a fondness for Lawrence Welk and big band music in general, and enjoyed visiting with friends, especially her next-door neighbor June, who was like a sister to her.
Peggy was a generous and giving person with an enormous heart who always was able to find the good in other people and for this she was much loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Mayme and her sister, Edna.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Mac; son and wife, Mike & Marci and grand dog Roxy, all of Richland.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, February 8th at 1:00 pm at Einan's Funeral Home.
Peggy was a good friend of mine and we always enjoyed our lunches together, with M. Kraemer and Marie Duncan.
My sincere condolences to her husband Mac and son and daughter-in-law.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and may your memories bring you comfort.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow.
The entire McAndrew family is in our thoughts and prayers.
I remember the visits Mac & Peggy made to Great Falls to visit Mac & Erna when I was young….always a good time.
