Patrick D. Pierce

Patrick Pierce, 53, died Thursday, August 14 at home. He was born in Kennewick on January 6, 1955 to Cecil and Sharon Pierce. He graduated from Kennewick High School in 1973 and was soon hired to work at Battelle, from which he retired in 2006. He and his wife Judy were married in 1980. Together they raised two sons and a daughter.

Pat enjoyed the outdoors and took his family on fishing and camping trips as often as they could, along the Yakima or Tucannon Rivers, or sometimes Williams Lake. Even more, he took pride in watching his children play and excel at school sports at Hanford High School. He coached his older son in Babe Ruth baseball, his daughter in basketball and younger son in football.

Pat had many friends at work and through his years playing sports. He played on several softball teams and participated in the Battelle bowling league. Pat loved to spend his spare time watching Western movies, and playing Indian poker and Tripoli card games with close friends. He will be greatly missed, but would want everyone to remember those good times. Pat is survived by his wife Judy, sons Jared and Kyle, and daughter Kari. Dad/Pat/P.P. we love you and miss you terribly, wishing there was just that "one more day." Also surviving are brothers Mike Brenda Pierce, Sam Amy Goin, sister Cindy Larry Barney, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. His parents and grandparents preceded him in death.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, August 26 at 5:00 PM at Einan's Chapel in Richland. Bring good memories!

  • Judy and Kids,

Don and I are so sad to lose one of our dearest friends and we both felt Pat as a brother, we loved him so much and miss him even more. We have so many fond memories of Pat, fishing and camping, cards and games, Don hunting with Pat. Don soaping your windows on Halloween, so many we can’t name them all. I met Pat in my junior year of High School working for the Richland Parks Department. He was always a gentle man, and when you were his friend he never forgot that either.Helped Don through some really hard times when He got divorced from his first wife. I loved to tease him about John Wayne, he would get so upset with me for mocking his hero but he knew it was all in fun. We love you all so very much if you ever need us, call we will be there as soon as the car will get us there,

    All our love,

    Don and Roxanne
