Dorothy G. Dixon
Our Lord took our beloved mother and grandmother home on September 29, 2008.
Dorothy was born on November 16, 1907 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Royal and Genevieve Whiting. She moved to Seattle with her family when she was fourteen.
In 1936 she married Roger Ray Dixon. Dorothy was a homemaker and a beautiful seamstress. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and daughter, square dancing, football and baseball games. After her husband died in 1972, she moved to Sequim, Washington, where she made many friends due to her kind and generous nature. She was active in St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed playing cards and Bingo. In 2003 she moved to Richland to be close to her family.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Judy Heintz; grandson Brett Heintz; granddaughter Traci Tom Steckler; four great-grandchildren: Tiana and Tyler Steckler, Desiree Lang, and Clinton C.J. Heintz; sister Lois Latimore; and brothers Richard and Robert Whiting.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Donald, James and Kenneth Whiting.
Services will be held Monday, October 6th at Christ the King Catholic Church, Richland. Rosary is at 10:30 am with the funeral mass at 11:00 am. A reception will follow at the church.
What a lovely lady. She was mentally active with her crosswords, TV, etc. And she was a woman of faith. Our mother, Mary Cox, enjoyed having Dorothy as her roomate and together now they can rejoice with great enthusiasm before their God and King.

Dorothy was such a dear lady! We missed her at Richland Gardens, but were glad we could come for her 100th birthday party! I have seen her since then when I was running over to see friends at Richland Rehab, and we had nice chats. God’s peace and comfort to you her family and friends. She will be missed, but she has total peace now. Love to her family, Bec
Dorothy was a wonderful roommate for Mother at Eagles. She was amazing, keeping her mind active with reading, praying, and watching of interesting programs on TV. Obviously, a very bright and capable woman, even at age…over 100. Our Mother, Mary, and Dorothy entered the Kingdom of God the same day–surprisingly. Thank you for your kindness towards our Mother when you visited and Dorothy’s encouragement toward our MOther in so many ways.
