E.F. Bud Thurston

E.F. Bud Thurston died Sept. 5, 2008 surrounded by his family.

Bud was born May 8, 1928 to Claude and Ula Thurston in Glen Elder, Kansas. He worked on the railroad for 38 years retiring in 1988.

Bud loved wood working, building and repairing things. He volunteered for just about everything, and liked to be around people and help them. Bud would give a hundred percent in whatever he did. Helping others is the way Bud showed his love to others. What we know is God will always be with you Bud.

He belonged to the Lions Club, Eagles and was a HAM Radio Operator. Bud was also a member of the Christian Science Church in Pasco.

Bud is survived by his wife Helen Thurston; son Shorty Thurston; daughter Norma Crain and husband Bud Crain; stepsons Larry and David Matuszewski; three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sept. 13, 2008 at Resthaven Cemetery in Richland. A wake will follow the service at Desert View Mobile Home Park in the Clubhouse, 6500 Van Giesen, West Richland.

  • As a friend of Dave’s Bud’s stepson, my heart goes out to him and his family. Recently losing my own Dad in June, I can truly understand the pain you are going through. My heart goes out to you. Dave, you have been the rock in your step-Dad’s life. You made his last months bearable and showed your love for him, through the time you’ve spent with him since his moving here a year ago. God bless you Dave for your giving and loving heart! Bud is in a better place just as my Dad is. He is no longer suffering physically. You will be in his heart 4-ever while he looks over you from above, until you are together again with our Lord Jesus Christ. Dave, you are a good man. Your strength amazes me. Just know I am here for you. Your friend of 28 years, Denise Myers
