Dear Berreth Family,
Dorothy and I were deeply saddened to hear of Imogeneâs passing. We remember with fondness getting together with her and Ernie to enjoy a supper and a slide show or game of bridge. A tradition was the New Years Eve Bridge game with them and other couples. Imogene will be missed. Please accept our sympathies for your loss.
Thanks for your love of teaching and for teaching Vicki. I pray for your family.
We were so shocked and deeply saddened to read about your mom’s passing. As you know, she and your dad were one of our favorite couples in the Sham Na Pum golf couples group. What beautiful memories we have of those days. First, golf, and then dinner out and then when so many were unable to play anymore, we became a Tuesday night Dinner Group. It was a special joy to all of us when one or two or all of you were able to join us with your mom. She was a special lady, and will be missed.
Jean was our neighbor for 17 years. My daughters have fond memories of Jean. I appreciated that she watched over our house when we lived in Minnesota. We are very sorry and send our warmest condolences to her children.
I am so sorry for your loss of a very special woman/teacher. I had Mrs. Berreth for kindergarden back in the mid 60’s…wow, that sounds long ago. She was so sweet, and I thought of her off and on over the years. I especially remember how excited everyone would get when they were picked that day to be the one to wake everybody up after nap time. She had a ‘wand’ and we would walk around and touch each of our classmates until the whole class was up. I have great memories of her, she was wonderful.
Gene made doll clothes for my dolls when I was MUCH younger. My mom sewed a lot, but wouldn’t do dokk clothes. She’d rather pay Gene to do it! She made my large doll a silk lined cape out of seal fur from my mom. I still have most of the clothes!
My folks enjoyed her company at the Wednesday AM breakfast club. She was also a member of my mom’s pinochle group, if memory serves me right.
She will be missed, but not forgotten.
Dear Kathy, I was so saddened to read the paper this morning and see this about your mom. I would love to talk if you are up to it, please give me a call, 9430630. It is so hard when we lose our moms, apart of us goes with them. Ive heard such sweet things of her over the years from students. She was a well loved teacher. Again, accept my sympathies and our love to you and your family. Love Janis and Nat
I have fond memories of my days in Mrs. Barrethâs kindergarten class. I remember she had a black poodle that she kept in the classroom, which always had a bow in its fur and painted nails. Oddly, I was thinking about her the other day- recalling the time I decided to take the poodleâs dog food and sprinkle it throughout the classroom. Although I got in trouble, Mrs. Barrethâs sweet golden smile seemed to wash my bad deed away. Throughout the years Iâd think about her and one day I actually saw herâ¦and she remembered me! The year was 1980 and I believe my class was her last at Marcusâ¦and even though it was 28 years ago, I still remember Mrs. Barreth and her smile.
My condolences to her family and friends-she was a keeper.

Kathleen Kathy,
I believe you and I graduated together from Col-Hi in 1968. If so, then I want to pass on my empathy and sympathy regarding your MOM’s death. My MOM 82 died this past February. Words can’t describe how much SHE is missed! To help the grieving, every night before going to sleep, I talk to MOM about what’s going on in my life, with the family and reminisce about things we did together! Hope this helps you and your family with your MOM’s loss!
