  • Jack was a very congenial co-worker…always so happy & helpful when he came into our office area. Also was proud to have him as a fellow WWII vet. Can readily recall how happy he and Shirley were dancing, and traveling. The “small world” deal is we ended up living close to each other in the “ranch house” district. He maintained such a beutiful yard facing BUSY Swift Ave; I always honked as I drove by when I’d see Jack dressing up his yard. Our wives plots are very close over at Sunset Cem..so, a big SALUTE to ya, Jack. Bob

  • I wish I knew where to send a card about Jack, so lacking that, I will send my memories here. I moved in across the street from Jack and Shirley about 12 years ago though my house faces Cottonwood. Over the years we had several close encounters when we were both backing out of our driveways at the same time. Shortly after moving in, Shirley and I discovered we had worked together at Westinghouse and kind of remembered each other — gave us a little common bond. During the winters, I think Jack or some of family actually came across the street and used showblower on my Swift side sidewalks and driveway. Jack also used to come across the street and visit with my dog, Chance. He told me one time he knew where Herb Conway my back door neighbor kept the dog biscuits in his garage. So when Herb was gone, Jack said he made sure he came across the street and gave Chance her daily “treat.” What a sweet man. I have missed seeing him puttering around in his well-appointed yard since he moved. My sincere sympathies to you and your family in the loss of one who was so kind and friendly to others.

  • Dad was my HERO.Not just because he was in World War II, but because of the things he did with and for me and my brothers and the time he spent with us.He had such a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Now I know he is happy and healthy and dancing with Shirley and laughing with Terry and Tommy.
