  • There are several fond memories we have of your Dad. Drinking his home made wine as a teenager!, enjoying his home made rooster windmills, his great garden and tomatoes, and, above all, Bill had the strongest handshake and tightest hugs I have ever had. Even in his nineties, I thought my bones would be crushed every time I saw him! He will be missed.

  • Dear Aunt Leona, Bob, Bonnie, Dot, Janice, Jim, and families,

When I remember Uncle Bill I always picture him with a big smile. I will cherish a photograph taken with him on his last visit to Missouri. Know that we are all thinking of you, praying for you, and grieving with you and remembering a life well lived. As you honor and remember your husband and dad, may memories and love console you.

  • I have many fond memories of Bill while we were growing up. Although we saw each other infrequently, we visited over the phone and I will miss our conversations and the jokes he loved to tell. He was a smart and talented man with a good sense of humor. He was always a good big brother and I will miss him very much. May God bless and console you in this sad time.

  • Grandpa Maasen is one of a kind. I will remember “HIS” chair where he sat reading the Wall Street Journal, the homemade lawnmowers, and ooo that wine! I will remember Christine’s rehearsal when he sat with us grandkids drinking beer, laughing, and sharing stories while we endlessly waited for the food. He will be missed, but never forgotten. I love you Grandpa!!

  • Dear Aunt Leona, Bob, Bonnie, Dorothy, Janice, and Jim,

I just wanted you all to know that we thought Uncle Bill was a “neat” guy. I was very glad he was able to come and visit for Mom’s and Aunt Angeline’s birthday party in 2000. We have alot of good memories that he shared when he was here. He spoke very highly of his family. He was a Good Husband, a Wonderful Father and to live a full and active life to 94 years is something to be proud of. He was a great dancer and I will never forget the video that we seen of Aunt Leona and Uncle Bill “dancing” at Michelle’s Wedding. I am sure he is up in heaven dancing the “Schottische” with Mom right now. We just wanted you to know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
