Betty L. Kinney
On January 25th, 2009 our Mom went to be with our Dad. She was surrounded by her family and the loving care of the Chaplaincy Hospice House.
She was born in Minden NE on May 4th, 1930 to Marguerite and Irving Haws.
Mom worked hard all of her life, from her early childhood of taking care of her four brothers to raising six kids.
Mom and Dad worked at the Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp for handicap children. After fulfilling her dream of living in a cabin in the mountains, they moved back to the Tri Cities and worked at the Clover Island Yacht Club until her retirement.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim Kinney, brothers Don, Ed, and Bill Haws.
Survivors include her children Sandra Needham John, Mike Elliott, Rick Elliott Rita, Matt Kinney, Keith Kinney Cindy, Peggy Naylor Chuck, James Kinney and brother Pat Haws Dorothy. She had 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday January 29th, 2009 from 5-8pm, at Einan's Funeral Home, Richland. Services will be held Friday January 30th, 2009 at 2:00pm, also at Einan's.
SORRY WE CAN’T BE THERE WITH YOU ALL. JUST KNOW THAT WE ARE WITH YOU IN SPIRIT. WE ALL LOVED GRANDMA WITH ALL OUR HEARTS. LOVE YOU ALL VERY MUCH. MISSY AND FAMILY
We are so sorry to hear about the loss of a great woman and loved one. Wish we could be there for this difficult time to be with the rest of the family. From everything I heard of Great-Grandma she was a real Fun one. With the distance of familys some times it is hard because you only meet once in a while but when some thing like this happens it is the thought and prayers that are the most important. Wish you all the best and God Bless you all you are in our prayers.

We are sorry to hear of Betty passing. I met Jim at the WPPSS project at Unit 2 in 1978 when we were working for the Waldinger Corporation. I stayed in touch with them until Jim passed. We visited with them when they first took over at the Clover Island Yacht Club. We never got to visit with them enough through the years. What a character Jim was and allways had a story to tell. They were both the Salt Of The Earth. Our Hearts are with you for the loss of your MOTHER. Gale & Sue
Sorry to hear of your loss of your mom. She was a very good person and lots of fun. All the fun times we had at the yacht club. We talk of her often. Sorry we can’t attend the services but our grandson is have his first play at school. I know your mom would understand. She was a great person.

To my cousins, my deepest sympathy on your lost. Some of my earliest memories include my Aunt Betty at family gatherings.
Peggy,
I was sorry to learn from the CIYC newsletter of your Mom’s passing. She is with Mom now and both are telling stories and keeping each other company. What fun they both had visiting.
