Dorothy May Perry "Haumann"
Dorothy May Perry "Haumann" of Richland passed away on January 29, 2009. She was born May 22, 1921 on a ranch near Teckla, Wyoming, daughter of Theo and Anna Haumann. She grew up on a ranch working with her parents with the live stock chores. Dorothy enjoyed horse back riding and her favorite horse was Rainbow. She attended one room country schools and graduated from Gillette High in 1938.
Dorothy and Buster married on December 24, 1938. This marriage lasted for 70 years and they were told it would never last. To this union two sons, Richard and Bruce, were born. After working and traveling with military duty, they ended up in Richland. In 1946 Dorothy worked for the Corps of Engineers, Camp Hanford as a secretary and retired from the City of Richland in 1977 as a secretary and store clerk manager.
She enjoyed her life in Richland with family and friends, the river, boating and fishing, her home with her flowers and square dancing. For 30 years she danced with the Prairie Shufflers and attended many state and national festivals.
Dorothy will be missed by her family and her memory will last forever.
A graveside service will take place on Saturday January 31 at 3:00pm at Resthaven Cemetery in Richland. A memorial service will follow the graveside at Memories at Sunset Event Center located behind Einan's Funeral Home at 4pm. Visitation will be held at Einan's Funeral Home on Friday January 30 from 5pm to 8pm.
