Ned Bryan Gosnell
Ned Bryan Gosnell, 43, of West Richland, WA passed away on February 28, 2009 at the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice in Kennewick from a Glioblastoma brian tumor. He was born on May 28, 1965 in Vancouver, WA. Ned spent most of his growing up years on the farm in Vancouver, learning multiple life lessons and the value of the dollar, which is something he used the rest of his life. He graduated from Fort Vancouver High School and found his first love, cooking at the Meadows Kitchen at the Green Meadows Golf Course. Cooking was something he enjoyed the rest of his life right up to his last final weeks at the Hospice House with Sandy.
Ned followed his dad's footsteps and went into manufacturing for almost 20 years until moving to the Tri-Cities in Oct. 2005 to start Ned's Coffee Shed. He finally found his niche as the Project Manager at Bush Construction. His proudest moments were first off, the marriage to his life partner, Katie. They dated for many years and married in Hawaii on June 15, 1998. They shared an everlasting love for each other.
On January 15, 2003, the "Little Nugget" as they called her, blessed their lives. Their one and only child, Madyson, was born. She loved her Daddy very much. These women were the two great loves of his life.
Ned is survived by his wife, Katie Gosnell; daughter, Madyson Gosnell; grandmother, Caryol Bacon; mother, Janett Smith; father, Bill Gosnell; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Kathy Bush; sister and brother-in-law, Katie and Tom Pyle; and countless nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Myrl Bush and grandparents, Murray and Mae Gosnell.
If you were a friend of Ned's you knew this friendship was very true.
We love and miss you Ned, have an awesome journey.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 7, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Richland Lutheran Church.
Donations may be made to the Madyson Gosnell College Fund, 1804 S Highlands Blvd., West Richland, WA 99353.
We are so sorry for the loss of Ned. We remember Ned when he was a teenager and living w/his Grandmother Caryol and Step-Grandfather Howard. I am Howards daughter.
Ned was such a fun-loving and sweet guy. One Xmas Ned gave my husband, Louis, a very heavy ball of lead. Since my husband is a fervent fisherman at that time he was making his own “sinkers” and Ned thought this would help him with that. We had a good laugh over it.
Ned was taken from this earth too soon, but heaven will be a little brighter w/his presence.
Love to Caryol and her family.
Enjoyed Ned so much in High School Choir. Never forget when you came over along with others to go Christmas caroling :
If you knew Ned you loved Ned.
I was a classmate of Ned’s from kindergarten through high school. I just heard about his passing, & while I didn’t stay in touch, I will miss him wholeheartedly. He always, & I mean ALWAYS, took the time to share a hello & a smile.
I hope his family is finding a way through their heartache & loss.
This dreaded disease seems to target the best amongst us which makes the cure that much more imperative to find.
Take care & treasure his memory, Scott Peck Speck

Wow! What to say. To Ned’s family, I am so sorry for your loss. Although I had not seen Ned for years, I have wonderful memories of him. Ned touched everyone that he met. We grew up not far from each other and went to school together forever. We even went to homecoming together in the 10th grade. What a great friend he was. Ned was always funny. Rest peacefully my friend. We will all meet again. God could not have chosen a better angel!
