There were many snow skiing trips over the years to White Pass, Spout Springs and Anthony Lakes. There were trips to the Redwoods, Disneyland, Grand Canyon and many other places. After his retirement he and his wife managed to visit every state except Hawaii in his motorhome.

Niels was a good man. I have many memories of him when I was a child but the one that stays with me is he and his wife Juanita came to the hospital to see my mother when she was ill. It meant a great deal to my mother and to me as well. He was a very kind man who lead a very kind family.
Niels will always have a very special place in my heart. I have a lot of really nice memories of him. One in particular was when I was a child he often promised to put my head between my ears if I didn’t scoot along. He was a very kind and gentle man.
Juanita, Judy, Sandy and David – you are in my hearts and prayers.

Uncle Niels is very special to me! We have many many fond memories with his family by going camping, boating, salmon fishing, snowski, reunion, thanksgiving dinner, etc, etc…. I’ll surely miss him.
I feel very fortunate to have known Niels as the husband of his niece Brenda. I will always recall the wonderful sparkle in his eyes, the always kind yet mischievious grin and his incredible ability to engage our kids, now five and six. He manageed to get their attention and make them listen in a way that their parents could not match, no matter how hard they tried. Niels inspired by a life lived well.
I will miss you very much Grandpa. Love, Kristina

Juanita, Judy, Sandy and David, you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Your family has always been so dear to us.
Whenever we visited in person or by phone we felt so close. You always made us know that we could “Go home again.”
All the years that have passed and we have never met another family as wonderful as yours.
Niels was such a positive and caring man and we loved him.
