Cheryl Ann Rogers passed away on March 16, 2009, surrounded by loved ones at her home in Pasco. She was born on December 7, 1951 in Sunnyside and was raised in Richland by her parents Louis and Betty Ford.
After graduating from Richland High School in 1970, Cheryl married Gene Rogers, her beloved husband of 38 years and raised their three boys on the family farm in Pasco.
Cheryl was a devoted wife and enjoyed nothing more than being with her family. She made her home a wonderful place of fun for her kids and their friends. She also volunteered for numerous school projects as the boys were growing up.
She enjoyed gardening and landscaping her home with rose gardens, ponds, and waterfalls. She loved animals and rescued many over the years.
Cheryl adored her grandchildren Logan, Ethan, Emma, Zachary, and Colin who gave her so much joy. They kept her full of life during the hardest part of her illness. Her sense of humor, even towards the end of her life was a blessing to many. She will be greatly missed by her husband Gene of Pasco, her son Eric and girlfriend Laney of Mount Vernon, her son Jeremy of Pasco, her daughter-in-law Katie of Pasco, her son Gregory and wife Mindy of Pasco, her mom Betty Ford of Richland, her brother Ken Ford and wife Gail of Richland, her brother Bob Ford of Richland, her sister-in-law Debbie Ford of Richland, her sister Nancy Crawford and husband Mark of Stanwood, her 5 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her dad, Louis Ford, in 2006.
A celebration of life will be held at Memories at Sunset Event Center on the beautiful grounds of Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Richland at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center.

We got to know eachother a long time ago 1996 – I admired you for the caring mother you were to your three boys. Your rose garden you kept was amazing – I had never seen one like yours before. You enjoyed your dogs imensley – especially Gizzy! I think back time and time again – thank you very much for your hospitality ….. I can’t believe that you are not amongst us anymore – too early you left.
Cheryl, I lost one of my two best friends. I will miss, so much, our weekly phone conversations and your messages telling me to call when I’m done playing around the last words I heard from you. I so hope there are ski slopes and Hawaiian settings up there. I am so saddened that all the family and friends that knew us both and how close our relationship was didn’t let me know so I could say good bye. I will always love you and miss you so much.
Gene, Eric,Jeremy, Gregory and family…I remember all of you and your mother with a smile. The fine family you are is a testament to the caring, optomistic and authentic person Cheryl was. You boys were always a teacher’s delight because we would not only be getting a great student but great parents to help as well. I still remember some of the Halloween costumes you boys wore and the great cookies you would bring for class parties. Take care of yourselves. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and Cheryl at this time. Blessings, Diana Burns
