Wilma "Marlene" DeNoma
Wilma "Marlene" DeNoma, 73, a resident of Richland for over ten years, passed away on June 29, 2009 in Richland. She was born on November 19, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
In Marlene's young adulthood she taught dancing at Arthur Murrays Dance Studio in Cincinnati.
She traveled with Harold to Japan, China, Korea, Yugoslavia, Russia, Spain, Italy and Hong Kong visiting orphanages and spending time with many children that did not have families. She enjoyed bringing them American candies to see the smiles on their faces, especially M&M's.
While living in Korea for four years, she became a member of the Bechtel Women's Club. She also became a member of the VFW Cook-Erickson Post 7952 Women's Auxiliary and Bechtel Women's Club of San Francisco.
Marlene had a love for not only children but animals too. She raised all kinds of animals from dogs and cats to pot belly pigs.
She battled cancer, a brain tumor, and blindness in her later years but her sense of humor was always there. Marlene always wanted us to tell her jokes because she loved to laugh. Now she is without pain.
She is survived by Terri Toebe Wayne, Mike Ramos Monica, Kai and Hannah Ramos, Daniel Ramos Corynn, Betty Dearinger, Donna, Mick Owens Pat and many nieces and nephews.
Marlene is preceded in death by her husband Harold DeNoma; son, Paul DeNoma; Cathey Whalen, Bob Dearinger, Wanda and Don Lenhof.
We will all miss you. "It must be coffee time". Enjoy heaven with Grandpa, Pee Wee and Paul. Bye Babe!
I am so sorry for your loss and am very sad to hear of her passing. I hope all is ok with the family and plan on going to pay my respects at her grave site. Marlene put a lot of light in my life when I was a caregiver at rosetta. I enjoyed coming to work and always loved to go see her and sit and talk and listen to her stories. She was a wonderful person and I will always rember her.
Terri,
We have lots of wonderful memories of your Mom. Your parent were wonderful neighbors from the old Richland neighborhood. Lots of stories shared. Blessings to you.
