Helen, Briana and Ryan;
I am so sorry to hear of Rex’s passing. I am very happy that we were able to get together in New Orleans earlier this year. We had a great time at my house, at dinner and later that week at a New Orleans Hornets basketball game. He would call me periodically to check-in and we frequently text messaged each other with up to date information. Rex introduced me to New Orleans 28 years ago while we both working for GE and were attending an employee meeting in Florida. We stayed at his parents house in Slidell and his brother, Dowin worked on both of our backs! I have know Rex for over 30 years. He was an early mentor of mine at GE and in 1981 he was the best man in my wedding. Just recently he sent to me a DVD of some of our experiences in Japan while working at the Fukushima nuclear plant in 1983. It was filmed with his new video camera… very compact for the time…probably 10 lbs. A note was attached and in his typical dry sense of humor it stated that “watching this video while drinking cheap wine, could cause an earthquake or worse sensation”. I will miss Rex very much…I really valued his friedship. If I can help with anything, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Mark Savoff
Dear Helen, Briana and Ryan;
I am so sorry to hear about your lost. I just heard about it from a good mutual friend. Rex worked at Vermont Yankee several times, which I got to know him quite well. He was excellent worker. He talked about his family a lot, which showed much love and concern. He enjoyed working on the family’s house and to cook. Rex was a good friend, and I will dearly miss him. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do in this tragic loss.

Dearest Helen, Ryan and Briana:
Though we can’t understand why this has happened, some day perhaps it will be made clear. Until then, let your faith and the love of those who surround you bring comfort in these difficult days ahead.
From John Michael Poirier’s
~STRENGTH FOR THE JOURNEY~
There is a road meant for you to travel
Narrow and steep is the shepherd’s way
And as you say, “yes”, letting me guide you,
I will be strength for the journey.
There is a cross meant for you alone
And as you bow down in humble surrender
I will be strength for the journey.
How many times have you doubted my word?
How many times must I call your name?
And as you say, “yes”, letting me love you
I will be strength for the journey.
With all our love –
Barbara, Stefanie, Alex
and, from above, Evan Michael
