Her early years where spent growing up among extended family and friends on the family sheep ranch in Grouse Creek, Utah.
The family moved to Brigham City, Utah after the early passing of Dawn's father Edward. The move allowed Dawn, older brother Edward and younger sister Mary to attend high school.
After high school her first job working for Bushnell Military Hospital was where she met the love of her life Peter Usatuck, a returning soldier formerly of Chicago, Illinois.
Pete and Dawn where married February 4, 1946 in San Francisco, CA. After a brief time in Los Angeles the couple returned to Brigham City where they made their home with her mother Clara Frost and Sister Mary. Pete and Dawn where blessed a daughter Kathy December of that year.
Dawn worked as a quality control technician at the cannery along with her mother on the line. Soon her attentions turned to Main Street. Dawn became a fixture of Brigham City's retail scene for the rest of her career. Working for Forsgreen's, Block's, Zundel's and finally Sonoma's, where she forged many life long friendships for her efforts.
In her younger days, she played basketball & softball. In her later years she enjoyed watching the grand children's games and Utah Jazz. Dawn enjoyed her family, shopping with the girls, and birthday lunches with many friends.
Pete and Dawn decided to move to Pasco, WA to be closer to family. Sadly, Pete passed before the move May 8, 1998 after a short illness. Dawn moved to Pasco Oct 1998. Her family was blessed to have her close these past 11 years. Although she missed her long time friends Brigham City friends. Dawn reveled in her great grandchildren's growth, and adventures. Granny will be greatly missed, her keen sense of humor was unique and enjoyed by all who knew her. She was a gracious, graceful lady who always had a smile for all, especially her family, she was our Granny. Whose Dawn always rose to the occasion, caring, strong willed and encouraging. She taught us style, perseverance and love. She was and always will be in our hearts and thoughts. Granny stayed with us as long as she could; she was and is our Dawn's horizon.
Dawn was preceded in death by her parents Edward S. Frost II, & Clara Hatfield Frost. Husband Peter Usatuck, & siblings Douglas Frost, Edward Frost III, & Mary Dunaven.
