Patty Bell Draper Dec. 1917 to Aug. 28, 2009

Patty, born in Humbolt, Tennessee to Robert and Marybelle Lucky, passed away peacefully in the arms of her son. Patty left home after graduating from high school, moving to Memphis, Tennessee attending Nursing College. Patty met and married Tommy Draper in April 1940. After raising 4 children, Patty returned to nursing school at the age of 54 graduating at the top of her class. She worked as a certified nursing assistant for the Baptist Hospital retiring in 1987. Patty moved to Richland in 1988 to be with her son and grandchildren. The move was a big decision on her part, leaving 3 other children and grandchildren in Memphis. Patty lived a long and prosperous life while in the Northwest where she had only to behold the beauty and a life with no anxiety. After falling ill in 1995, she moved in with her son where she lived the rest of her life. She was an avid fan of the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks, watching as many games as possible always giving the teams advice from her living room chair.

Patty is preceded in death by her mother, father and brother. She is survived by and leaves a legendary memory: with 4 children, Billy wife Sherry, Memphis; Nolan, Richland; Sandra, Memphis; Cheryl, Memphis; 7 grandchildren and 7 greatgrand children.

This incredible lady will forever remain in our hearts. A special thanks to Evelyn Stratton, Robin Ross and others who helped as care takers for mom for the past 14 years. They helped me through the good and not so good times. I owe them a debt of gratitude.

It was mom's desire to be cremated and inurned next to her Mom and Dad in Humbolt, Tennessee. John 14:27-29

"I am leaving you with a gift---peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn't fragile like the peace the world gives. So don't be troubled or afraid. Remember what I told you--I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really love Me, you will be very happy for Me, for now I can go to the Father, Who is greater than I am. I have told you these things before they happen so that when they do, you will believe in Me".

  • I just wanted to say that MeeMaw Patty was the most wonderful loving and caring Grandmother I ever had. When I heard that she passed away, she took a part of me with her.She just wasnt our grand

mother but me and Michael considered her as our mom.She took me and him under her wing and raised 2 wonderful grand kids. She would be sooo proud of us. I will never forget her long as I live. It’s still hard for me to believe that she is gone, it seems just like yesterday that we move to Washington State. But I know now she’s no longer suffering and she is in a wonderful place with my Granny. I WILL MISS SOOO MUCH MeeMaw and you will ALWAYS be in my HEART and SOUL… I LOVE YOU !!!

Love Michelle , Jeremy , Ariel and JJ
