Norma B. Eileen Jones
Norma was born and raised in Koshkonong, Missouri. Married Harold Jones RIP. With World War II going strong Harold entered the Navy, later joining the family. Norma moved to Richland, WA, in 1944 with their two children.
In 1950 she went to work at the Richland Laundry. Then Hanford's reproduction center in the Federal Building in Richland, where she worked until retirement in 1984.
Norma was a member of Northwest United Protestant Church. Through the years of living in Richland, Norma and Harold found sports to be very entertaining. They attended almost all basketball games at Columbia/Richland High School during the '50s and '60s.
Throughout Norma's life she had many travels. In the early years her travels were mainly with family camping all over the state of Washington. From Westport, Washington, to the Pot Holes in Eastern Washington. Her other travels took her as far away as Greece.
Norma was also a member of the VFW for many years and Northwest Protestant Church.
She left Richland after 49 years of living here to live in Milwaukie, Oregon. Visiting mom one day, she questioned, 'I wonder if there is Government Housing in Heaven.'
Norma has spent much of her time keeping up on the Mariners and Ice Hockey. Beanie Babies became one of her passions. She would rise early to go to the stores that were selling new ones, doing another one of her passions, walking.
All that have known her loved her. Joseph Jones Winterhawk '58 RIP, Patti Jones Ahrens '60 and Nina Jones Rowe '65 husband Fred, eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Brother Jim Boak, wife Kay, sister Millie Worley. Norma is Aunt and cousin to many around the world.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Richland Post of the VFW, 1369 George Washington Way, Richland, WA 99354.
May God be with you ….
Bomber tears..
Gram,
We shared many times together. I have memories of our dinners together, watching the Mariners, going to hockey games. Organizing Beanie Babies, shopping at the Town Center. Taco Bell taco salads.
We danced to Abba at my wedding and you held both my babies when they were born.
You were the one that kept the family in touch.
I miss you so much! I will always love you.
Deb
Grandma,
You taught me so many lessons with your life well lived. You taught me that I could work, enjoy it, and still be a good mother. Your love of sports was infectious. But what I will cherish most is your ability to walk into a room and learn everyone’s life story in but a few moments. Their stories became your stories. You knew what was valuable in this world, others and experiences. You will be missed, but your story lives on.
Yvonne
P.S. I will always love that you knew exactly what I needed, like a vaccuum cleaner instead of fancy jewelry.
Norma was one of her first great grandson’s Leman Harold Jonesbabysitters. I always felt like the world was right when Gramie Jones had the baby. She was a wonderful woman, friendly and outgoing. One of my favorite memories of her is her dancing with a group of us at my 21st birthday and showing up all the youngsters. Peace be with you all.
Dearest Grammie,
Thank you for meaning so much to me. Thank you for being such a part of who I am and especially for the memories.
Everthing is standing out. The beanie babies, the afgans made with hours of time and loving hands. The beanie babies sent to great grand children miles away. They were blessed to meet you and how much did that mean to us both.
The talks of your travels and of course the time you came here and spent a month with us. How proud I was of you just taking off to see what you could see.
All these things remind me of you. I am blessed to have had the relationship we had,as there are some who never got the chance to bond with their grandmother as I did with you.
I love you and will miss you in so many ways all the rest of my life.
xx
I love you with all my heart Grammie, and you will remain there forever.
I will always cherish our special times; going shopping for Beanie Babies together, our trips to the little pub around the corner to have a beer, late night chats across the rooms when neither of us could sleep.
Your Granddaughter,
Kimberly
Patti and Nina: My thoughts are with you at this time. Nobody should have to lose their mother! Here we are in our sixties and we are orphans!!! Our fathers, Smokey and Jones, were bus drivers together.
I wish I could have been there for both of you on Wednesday.
Most sincerely,
Louise M. Moyers
She was a fine lady who raised fine children. She will be missed.
