Jenneth Ann Gabel

Jennie is finally at peace after battling breast cancer and bone cancer for 20 years. She passed at home surrounded by her family and friends that will love and miss her forever.

Jennie was born and raised in Richland, WA. She attended local schools Jason Lee Elementary, Chief Jo Jr. High, and Columbia High School. As a young girl she was a Brownie that her mother was a head of. In high school she worked at Zip’s in Richland as a car hop. She married Bill Gabel in 1966 and moved to Seattle and then Reno, NV until 1978. Jennie moved back to her home town of Richland and was back with her best friend, her mother Agnes Parchen.

Her proudest moments were of her children and her granddaughters; Savanah Gabel and Emily Gabel. She also loved to do her crafts and making all of our holidays special. Over the years she always loved taking a couple of vacations a year at Cape Meares in Oregon with her husband Les DeLay and their Yorkies, Buddy and Chip.

Jennie is survived by her husband Les DeLay; son, Bill Gabel and his wife Katrina; son, Kenny Gabel and his wife Kelly and daughter, Lindsey Slocum; daughter, Cathy Stitser; granddaughters, Savanah and Emily Gabel; brothers, Don Parchen, Lee Parchen, Keith Parchen, Wayne Parchen and his wife Lauren, and countless children and young adults that she was always there for as a friend and mother figure.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Agnes and Kenneth Parchen; brother, Kenneth Parchen and her sisters-in-law Linda and Pat Parchen.

In lieu of flowers and gifts please make donations to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center in Jeanneth Ann Gabel’s name.

  • Jenny was very special and caring. She was instrumental in helping gather people together for the SEC petition for the people that worked at Hanford and became ill. Our sympathy to those that loved her as we did.

  • Jenny was our favorite Mom when we were growing up. Shelly Allen, Donna Malnik, myself and many others were at Jenny’s house more than we were at our own houses. She was the sweetest, most supportive friend to all of us young girls who really needed this at that time. Jenny was a very special person who was dearly loved all her life and will be missed by many. I only wish I could have told her while she was alive. Love, Kelley Peterson
