Alma I. Brooks Perkins, 88, Richland, WA died Monday, December 7, at Hospice House in Kennewick, WA.
Alma was born in Loup City, Nebraska on May 23, 1921 to Harold and Mamie Brooks. The family moved from Nebraska to Richland, WA in 1936 and Alma graduated from Richland High School in 1938. After graduation she married Ernie Perkins of Richland. After Ernie completed his Army assignment, they settled in Richland and had three children, Carol, Ron and Jo Ann. The family moved to Hermiston, OR in 1951 where they owned and operated Dres- Well Cleaners until their retirement. Upon retirement they moved to Summerville, OR where they continued their lifestyle of camping and fishing. In addition, Alma enjoyed doing some oil painting, quilting and working with the ladies of the Summerville Grange, but Alma and Ernie were always together.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie and parents Harold and Mamie Brooks.
Survivors include daughter, Carol Hexum of Richland, WA, son Ron Marlene of La Grande, OR and daughter Jo Ann Naff Ray of Keizer, OR. Alma had 5 grandchildren, Roger Hexum, Jr., Terri Mars, Ernie Perkins, Jody Naff and Kelly Naff and 4 great grandchildren, Mikayla and Josh Mars, Lanae Hexum and Orion Naff. She is also survived by a sister, Marlene Harris, and her brothers and spouses, Howard and Donna Brooks, and Bill and Diane Brooks.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the Richland Lutheran Church in Richland, WA. Alma's ashes, along with Ernie's will be buried this spring in Hermiston. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers please donate in Alma's name to the church/charity of your choice.

The perkins family has lost another wonderful person. Alma was a sweet woman and always tryed to stay involved with the family. we will miss her..
