Lionel Thomas LeMieux

Lionel Thomas LeMieux joined his father, Emery LeMieux, mother, Lydia LeMieux, great grandson, Adain Layne, and three brothers, Elmer, Darnell, and Gail LeMieux in heaven on December 24, 2009.

Lionel began his life on January 1, 1936 in Flaxville, MT. From the time he could stand and hold a hammer, he helped his father in his blacksmith shop, resulting in Lionel's strong work ethic and ability to create solutions to problems. After serving at Rattlesnake Mountain while in the Army, Lionel married Joanne Plante of Pasco. He worked for J.P. Head as a heavy equipment operator and then worked as the shop foreman for George Grant Construction. Lionel retired from Battelle as a power operator.

What we will remember most about Lionel is his ability to fix anything, his dedication to teaching his children and grandchildren how to repair and care for things the RIGHT way, and his unique way of making people laugh. When he wasn't fixing or inventing, he enjoyed many summers boating with his family on the Columbia River, camping, and fishing.

Lionel will be fondly remembered by his wife, Joanne LeMieux, his siblings, Joanne Knapp, Diane Spencer, Noreen LeMieux, and children Debbie Bryant, Cindy Bentley, Lori Rivas, DarIa Workman, Toni Quackenbush, and Lee LeMieux, their spouses, 19 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, and many friends.

A Rosary will be said at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, December 30, at Einan's Funeral Home. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, funeral services and Mass will be held there on Thursday, December 31, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

  • There has never been another man, that if anything else, taught me, you do not wear an earring, you never wear a hat in his house, and real men don’t have pony tails! The biggest lesson and most valued, is that you taught me

you can overcome any personal imperfections you may have in your own time, and in your own way. My hat will ALWAYS be off to you Lionel. Rick
