Linda Denoff
Linda Denoff, age 65, passed away April 20, 2010, at her home in Kennewick. Linda was born April 7, 1945 to Reuben and Bernice Denoff in Chicago, Illinois. As the child of a Naval Officer, Linda and her family lived in Chicago, Denver, St. Louis and Anaheim. Linda graduated from Western High School in Anaheim, CA in 1963. And in 1968, she graduated from Fullerton State College with a BA in English.
In 1968 the Denoff family moved once again, this time to Kennewick. Linda began her professional career with Tri-City Radiology and later went to work for WPPS, while at the same time obtaining a BA in Accounting. It was also at this time that Linda became a Certified Public Accountant.
In 1989, Linda left WPPS to seek a career with the DCAA in Mt. View, California, where she spent 5 years before moving back to Kennewick. Since returning to Kennewick in 1994, Linda has worked for the Department of Energy.
Linda was a kind and loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Although Linda never had children of her own, she was a dedicated and doting Aunt. Passionate about the Arts, Linda introduced classic literature and music to her nieces and nephews at a very young age. Linda and her mother, Bernice, attended many Mid-Columbia Symphony performances over the years.
Linda loved to travel, whether for business or pleasure. She was able to visit Singapore, Canada, Hawaii and cruise the Caribbean and Tahiti. Her favorite work related travel experience was a trip to Diego Garcia. She even managed trips to Disneyland and Disney World to satisfy her inner kid.
Linda is survived by her mother, Bernice Denoff, brother David Denoff and his wife Carol; sister Jo Ann Young and her husband Rob; niece Jennifer Ollero and her husband Ryan; nephew Andy Young and fiancé Vanessa Coon; great-nephew Riley Ollero; and great-nieces Marley Ollero, Jocelyn, Kayleigh, Melody, and Mia Young. Linda also leaves behind many friends, including her Tahitian traveling buddy, June Ollero and her precious dogs Circe and Freya. She is also survived by a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Reuben Denoff.
Please come and help us celebrate her life on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at an open house between 2pm and 5pm at Memories at Sunset Event Center, 915 Bypass Highway, Richland.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Benton Franklin Humane Society, the ASPCA or the Susan B. Komen Foundation.
My condolences, thoughts and prayers reach out to you at this difficult time. It was a pleasure to work with Linda at the DOE/Richland. She was kind and gentle person, and always had a smile on her face. She had a heart of gold and will be missed by many.
