Long time Richland resident Marilyn Ann McNeill passed away quietly on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Kadlec Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Flint, Michigan on December 31, 1927 to Merton and Annah nee Habkirk Turnbull of Clio, Michigan. She graduated from Clio High School and Michigan State College.

She married Lynn Burns McNeill in Clio on May 16, 1953 and moved to Richland where he was employed by the Atomic Energy Commission AEC. They moved to LaGrange, Illinois in 1954, to Oakland, California in 1956 and, then, back to Richland in 1957 where she resided for 53 years. She was an active member of Central United Protestant Church where she sang in the church choir for many years. She was also active in the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and P.E.O. Chapter D.F.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn; her brother, Ronald Turnbull; her brother-in-law Robert McNeill; and her aunt, Sally Simpson.

She is survived by son Paul McNeill and his fiancé, Rosemary Gugino, of Harper Woods, Michigan; son Jeff McNeill and his wife, Chris, of Kennewick; sister-in law Donna O'Rourke of Pasco, brother-in-law Patrick McNeill and his wife, Aurla, of Kennewick; sister-in-law Dorothy McNeill of Powell, Wyoming; grandson John McNeill and his wife, Tiffany, and her great-grandchildren Elijah and twins Zechariah and Zipporah of Citrus Springs, Florida; grandson Michael McNeill of Augusta, Georgia; granddaughter, Sarah McNeill of Gainesville, Florida; grandson Matthew McNeill of Lanexa, Virginia; grandson Alex McNeill of Richland, grandson Evan McNeill of Kennewick, grandson Andrew McNeill of Kennewick and granddaughter Maddisen McNeill of Kennewick.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 30, at 10 a.m. at the Central United Protestant Church. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.

    I think you know how much your Mom meant to all of us. She was such a wonderful friend, a sweet, funny, loving person. Marilyn was one classy lady, loved by all who knew her. She will be truly missed, we love her.
