Dear Wilson Family,
I’m so sorry to hear of your great loss. He had such passion for learning and teaching he could inspire anyone he met. My thoughts are with you during this sad time.
As one of Mr. Wilson’s students, I enjoyed his sense of humor during his lectures and his dedication to the pursuit of knowledge. His contributions will be missed.
Knowing John has been a rare privilege, and he introduced me to many people who ended up becoming cherished friends. He will always be alive in my heart.
John was a fantastic friend and gamer.
I will miss him greatly.
Sue, Brian and Aaron:
We are shocked and saddened to hear of John’s passing. John was a very special person and his passing is a terrible loss for so many people. John was always someone you could count on when you needed help. His kindness, caring, and willingness to lend a helping hand, are traits that we will always remember.
God bless your family and may He help you to find the strength to persevere through this difficult time.
Even as a young kid at the lake several years his junior, I could see in John that affable and caring spirit that so typifies a Wilson.
I had the privilege of knowing Mr. Wilson as one of his students during my freshmen year at Tri-Cities Prep. He really enjoyed teaching and did his best to share his knowledge and enthusiasm every time he was teaching a class. He challenged his students to look at different perspectives and to recognize that there is a whole world outside of the Tri-Cities. The world has an influence on us and what we do influences the world. That is one of the most eye-opening statements I have ever heard about and I have Mr. Wilson to thank for that. May he rest in peace.
As a freshman at Tri-Cities Prep, I was so privileged as to have Mr. Wilson as my Human Geography teacher. Not only did he care enormously to pass on his plentiful knowledge to his students, but also his vibrant and intellectually stimulating teaching methods inspired a sense of awe at learning, intermixed with his sense of humor. I am very grateful to have had him as a teacher. God rest his soul.
I only knew John for about a year when he taught me English at Tri-Cities Prep and I worked for him over the following summer. Despite having only known him a short time, he made a lasting impression on me: I’ve always fondly remembered his enthusiasm and his intellect, and I’m truly sorry to hear that he’s passed.
I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing. I knew him through our gaming club, where he was always ready to play anything, to teach anything, and to laugh about anything. I’ll miss his gregarious good nature and humor, and Game Nights won’t be quite the same without him.
John was so enthusiastic about so many things, always willing to share information and listen to others. He was one of the kindest people I know, not a mean bone in his body. He was a good friend to watch anime, Godzilla and soccer with or to teach me new games. I am very grateful for the many times John helped me or gave me some small gift. I am very saddened by his death but will remember him for his sharing heart and enthusiasm.
We are so very, very sad to hear of John’s untimely passing! Though it’s been many years, we remember him well-gatherings at the Wilson home in Missoula were a welcome respite when I was in college. John always had a ready smile and would help to reason out any problem. Our thoughts are with you.

We are saddened by the news of John’s death. A memorial donation has been sent to the Rock County Library of Luverne, Minnesota. They will place a name marker in the books purchased in his memory. What a loving way to help others, as he unselfishly did for others.
In peace and sympathy,
