Joseph John Hogan

Joseph John Hogan, Sr., 75, of Wauconda, WA, passed away on July 4, 2010 in Spokane, WA at Providence Holy Family Hospital. He was born on October 30, 1934 in New York, NY and grew up in Queens, NY. Joseph attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church school and Lassalle Academy New York City.

He moved to the Tri-Cities when he was 18 years old and began working at Johnny’s Delicatesen and ended up buying and operating it. In 1954 he married Ida Atwood. Joseph served in the Army National Guard and the Army Reserve. Joseph was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Eagles and the VFW. In 1964 he changed careers and worked 20 plus years at Hanford Nuclear Reservation and retired.

During his retirement he built a cabin near Wauconda, WA where he and his life long partner Ida lived until his recent passing.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Ida Larea Hogan Atwood; son, Joseph John Hogan, Jr., and son, Michael Thomas Hogan.

Visitation times will take place on Friday, July 16 2010 from 1:00-3:00pm and Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 12:00pm until the service time at Einan’s Funeral Home in Richland, WA. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 1:00pm at Einan’s Funeral Home, 915 By-Pass Highway, Richland, WA.

  • Uncle Jack was such a funny guy. He had someways about him that just made you laugh aloud. He was so frugal. He would drive clear across town to save a dime. If it wasn’t on sale at a good price, he wouldn’t buy it even if he needed it.

    I remember when Jack & Ida took me with them to Wallowa Lake. He got the least expensive cabin. It had a floor that slowped realy bad and cracks so big between the wall boards that we had to turn the lights off at night to change cloths.

    We will miss you and your funny ways.
