Marjorie Jean Watkins

Marjorie Jean Watkins passed away peacefully July 8, 2010 at her home in West Richland surrounded by family and friends.

Marjorie’s father came to the United States from Germany and met her mother Mary in Montana. She was raised in a German home where her grandmother only spoke in German. The family later moved to Bremerton where her father was employed in the ship yards. They eventually made their home in the Tri-Cities in 1946. Marjorie met her husband Curley in 1946 and they were later married in 1950. They have been together ever since.

Marjorie is very proud and committed to her children, husband and family. She was very close to her sister Florence, whom we called “Nudy.”

Marjorie was a long-time resident of the Tri-City area, with the past 12 years in West Richland. She was the bookkeeper for many years in the family-owned business. She was also a wonderful homemaker.
She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Richland.

She is survived by her Husband Curley; sons Michael Jane, Richard, Terry Terra; grandchildren Wendy, Ryan, Amelia, Josh, Benjamin, Hailey, Heather, and Zachary. She also had 7 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sister Florence J. Ungefug.

  • Sorry to see that Hazel’s great grandma passed away. That was a beautiful picture of her in the paper. My sympathies go out to everyone in the family. She was a sweet and courageous woman.
