John G. Holt
John G. Holt, 79, wonderful husband, father, and grandpa of Richland, Washington died at Kadlec Hospital on August 7th, 2010 after a tragic head injury. He was born in Portland, Oregon and raised in Mt. Vernon, Washington.
He was a resident of Richland for 55 years and retired from Battelle NW in 1989. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years during the Korean War. He enjoyed spending summers as a child on Whidbey Island with his Grandma and Uncle.
When his boys were young he enjoyed coaching their little league teams. He loved photography and playing on the computer.
John is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn Holt. Six children: Vickie Helvey Barney, Penny Walter Ron, Mark Holt Martina, Jon Holt Tammy, Cindy Gossett, and Bobbie Anderson Rick, twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth Holt.
After each visit he would give us a big long hug, he didnt want to let us go. We are so sorry we couldnt hold onto you any longer. You will be truly missed by your loving wife, children, grand children and great grandchildren. We love you.
There will be no service at his request.
Donations can be made in his name to the American Heart Association. The family would like to thank all Kadlec ICU nurses and staff for their great care.
Dad, I am so sorry that you didn’t grow old with me. I miss you so much. I will talk to you often and hope you are happy in heaven. Love you always and forever. Love your favorite daughter. ssshhh, we wont tell the others… Penny
Grandpa-
I still can’t believe you are gone. I’m so proud to call you my Grandpa and I will miss you very much and think of you every day. You may be gone but you will never be forgotten. I love you.

Jon…I too, lost my Dad 2 yrs. ago June. I remember your whole family, from the years, we have gone to school together! Vickie was even my boss at Taco Time back in the 70’s!
