From Benton, City, WA, US | Born in Waco, Texas
Bill Loftin Brazelton
Bill Loftin Brazelton of Benton City, WA died Sunday, September 12, 2010, in his home.
GOD gave him peace, thanks be to GOD.
Bill was born in Waco, TX on November 9, 1952. He was raised in the central Texas area around the Brazos and Bosque Rivers. Thus his early love of fly fishing, hiking, camping, rock hounding, and BBQ-ing! When he "had to work", Bill could be found with his family in their Art Gallery and Frame Shop and Insurance Agency. When he got away with family and friends, it was to the Rocky Mountains and Reservations of New Mexico and Colorado, and to Big Bend and the Hill Country of Texas. Bill moved to work at Hanford and live in Benton City in February of 1992. Wild Mountain Man Bill had a whole new scope of mountains and forests to disappear within and rivers to fish with family, friends, and his dogs, Willie and Kelsie, and Catfish, Larry, and Augey. If the weather was most severe, Bill could be found around his fireplace with Willie Nelson and Billie Joe Shaver on the stereo, his fly tying equipment, whittling tools, and a stack of books on the floor - and maybe a pot of homemade beans and chile, and pepper jelly, and smoked brisket.
Bill was a kid at heart as evidenced by his love and wonder of the joys and lights of the Christmas season. Throughout the year he also found joy in giving his time, talents, and means to the Church, the Food Bank, the Benton City Library, the Ki-Be School District, Chamber, and a newly found outreach to abused children, BACA.
Bill is survived by his wife, Terry Ann Brazelton; daughter, Micheal Ann Brazelton; stepdaughter, Cindy Jo Moreland. He also leaves his in-laws, Mamma-San, Joe, and David; a brother, Chip; four sisters, Pat, Marta, Moni, and Marilu and several nieces and nephews. And SO MANY people he was so proud and grateful to love as friends.
Oh, Bill, you left us a huge space to fill with your memories, but our love for you can over flow this hole many, many times forever. And we know you hiked right into whatever GOD has in store for you with a smile on your face and a profound appreciation of your surroundings.
In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Bill can please be made to: Columbia Basin Bikers Against Child Abuse BACA PO Box 4776 West Richland, WA 99353 or Karolina Lorz Foundation KLF - a supporter of youth literacy and education PO Box 855 Benton City, WA 99320

We will forever miss “Billy the Hillbilly” He and Terry have been the best neighbors anyone could ever ask for. We will miss Bill’s wonderful sense of humor. We know he is at peace now and free from pain. Terry, please remember we are here if and when you need anything.
This old world lost an original, one-of-a-kind, never-to-be-duplicated good and righteous man. Godspeed, Bill, until we all meet again!
Terry,
We are sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Please tell Micheal Ann we are thinking of her.
Tim, Moni, Millie, David, & Clint
Terry and family, Our prayers are with you. We are thinking of you at this time of great sorrow and loss of Bill. He will be missed by many. He is in the arms of our Lord now and will continue to watch over us in that great cloud of witnesses which surround us continually. He is gone in body but his spirit and soul lives on.
I had the privilege to get to know Bill as a co-worker & friend these last few months before he went into the hospital. He taught me a different & positive way to view some catholics & their faith. I’m confident that he is with the Lord today & look forward to seeing him one day again in Heaven. He was a very kind and considerate man. I also had the privilege of meeting his wife Terry who also I’m confident will have a great reunion one day again with Bill in Heaven. John 11:25-26
I’ll never forget how great our camping trips were way back when Micheal Ann was just a little one. So many wonderful memories and great pictures I can share.
It has been such a pleasure getting to know Terry, what a wonderful couple you both were. And what a wonderful daughter Bill and I have. I am so sorry for our loss. We will miss him.

Terry, I am so sorry that Bill has passed. I just found out tonight. I met “Billy B.” as I called him, a few years back at the site. We talked about Texas and Texas music. He always asked me about doing archaeology for a living, and his eyes lit up like a kid at story time. My eyes lit up whenever I got him talking about the beach, and it took me back to a better time for a moment. I was going thru a rough time out there working as a janitor, and Bill was always telling me to “get back into archaeolgy”. I never burned that Larry Joe Taylor CD for him like I promised, or looked yall up after I left that job. My heartfelt prayers go out to you and your family, and may you find peace in the beautiful memories you shared…
