Roberta Bobbi Anne Abraham June 20, 1936-0ctober 6, 2010
Roberta known to many as "Mickey" or "Bobbi" was received into our Heavenly Father's arms on October 6, 2010. Our Mom joined our Dad Ray in peace just 2 short years later after a brief illness. They now know a sweeter life, where there is no pain, no fear and no sin.
Mom and Dad moved to the Tri-Cities in 1961 from Pittsburgh, PA; Mom arrived with "three babies, three bunnies, and three blankets". Needless to say, she was not dressed for the desert heat after leaving the cold of Pennsylvania. Mom worked as a secretary at various businesses and retired from Fluor Hanford in 1995.
Our Mom gave her heart to Christ as a young woman and our family attended Richland Lutheran Church for many years. Later she attended Bethel Church and Four Square Church. Mom had such a heart for the Lord that she wanted everyone to know God's love and salvation; she was instrumental in leading her Mom, sister, brother, and all of her children to the Lord. She used her final days to speak of Christ's love to all those she came in contact with at the hospital.
Mom had a spontaneous humor and a clever wit and we all have great memories of our laugh-a-thons. Our Mom often made up songs "off the cuff' about things we were talking about and she'd get everyone laughing. Mom loved to play cards and computer games; she enjoyed the music of the Gaither Vocal Band and Celtic Thunder and old Hymns. She was an avid reader which kept her mind sharp and she loved watching The History, NatGeo and Animal Planet channels on television.
She is survived by her daughter Lesley Bill Rutz of Kennewick, WA; her daughter Rae Lynne Abraham of West Richland, WA; sons Jeffrey Abraham of Martinsburg, WV; Christopher Abraham of Okanogan, WA; grandchildren Michael and twins Addison and Alexis Rutz, Adam Abraham, and Denton, Stephen and Benjamin Abraham; her sister Cheryl "Dolly" and husband John Herleman of Ohio and brother Andrew "Skip" Benovic of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Lillian Benovic and her husband Raymond M. Abraham.
Our Mom is free, living out loud, and dancing with' Jesus. We deeply appreciated all your prayers and support and hope you will rejoice with us at her Homecoming.
There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Einan's Funeral Home.
Jeff and family – I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I remember your mother from years ago; she was a lovely lady. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
Rae. Lesley, Jeff and Chris—another great former Tinkler Streeter has gone on to be with Jesus. How awesome is that! She has left many wonderful memories that will be cherished for many generations—-
It is so cool to read what you wrote of her cuz much of it reminds me of my momma—must be the generation. Mom’s are the coolest creatures.
I am sorry for your loss as I understand as I have lost my dad and my mom’s time is shorter. I just praise God that He has her in His boosum. I will try to come down with my daughters, but am unsure. In any event–I send much love, prayers and Tinkle Street pride your way!
A beautiful tribute to a beautiful woman. I wish I could have met her in this life: what a joy that would have been! I look forward to meeting her in the next.
Hugs to you, RaeLynne as you adjust to missing her. Wish I could jump on a plane and be there next weekend!!
Erv and I remember your Mother and Dad while we were at Richland Lutheran years ago. Our deepest sympathy, now in the loss of your mother. Prayers and Blessings to you as you grieve your loss. Erv and LaVonne Johnson
