Ted was born in Thorp, Wisconsin on June 9, 1924. Ted attended St. Johns University before joining the military. He served in the Army, during WWII from 1943 to 1946 in the European Theater where he participated in the landing at Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. After serving his country, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in mechanical engineering. Ted worked for Boeing on the Apollo/Saturn projects and ultimately came to Richland in 1975 to finish the remainder of his career at Hanford, as a project manager. Ted will be remembered as a compassionate family man, a hard worker, loving husband, father, and grandfather Dzia-Dzia. Ted enjoyed travelling and gardening. He was a master gardener and all who knew him loved his produce. Ted's main joy came from spending time with his family. Ted liked to grill and spent many summer evenings barbequing steaks and hamburgers on his back deck sharing time with his family and friends.

Ted's family would like to thank the caregivers at Wynwood and Richland Life Care Center for their excellent care and the kindness shown to our Dad. Rest in Peace, Dad we miss you and love you. Sorry to hear that a good friend has passed. I just returned from being with my father in SoCal today. Ted and I were Project Engineers then Project Managers at Vitro Engineering. We met while working under Ed Smith. We had many good times together. Sorry he had to leave us so soon.
I had the pleasure of working with Ted in the early 1980s when I believe he was a Project Manager with Kaiser Engineering. I always found Ted to be honest, professional, and enjoyable to work with. While I haven’t had the opportunity to see him for quite a number of years, he clearly has left a positive impression with me that I will always remember.
