Carroll Lee Ayers
Carroll Ayers, age 75, of Benton City, Washington, was surrounded by angels when she died at English Rose Manor nursing home in Kennewick on Saturday, November 6.
She was born April 5, 1935, in Torrington, Wyoming, to the late Alva and Carolyn Tucksen. She had four sisters and one brother. Searching for work, her father brought the family to Oregon and Washington. On December 7, 1955, she was united in marriage to William S. Ayers, Sr. of McKeesport, Pennsylvania. They settled in Benton City, Washington and raised seven children. Her interests included family, gardening, fishing, making birthday and wedding cakes, crafts, sewing and cooking. She always cooked amazing Sunday dinners that never failed to bring the family together. She devoted much of her time to her children and doting on her grandchildren. Many could see the delight in her eyes when there was a baby in her arms. Carroll was a long time member of the Benton City Assembly of God church. In the early 70's she worked for the Tri-City Herald distributing newspapers. She had a caring heart for everyone and is now at peace with the Lord.
Carroll is preceded in death by her husband William S. Ayers, daughter, Kitty Porton brother, Sonny Tucksen and son-in-law Alan Plank.
She is survived by her sisters Margaret Jones, Betty Tucksen, Jeannie Kidder and Frances Cox; daughters, Penny Paxton husband George, Mary Bramer husband Dale, Carroll Ann Walkup husband Mike, and Barbara Plank; sons, William S. Ayers Jr. wife Debbie and James Ayers, Sr. wife Jackie; Grandchildren: William E.
