Joanne Marie LeMieux

Joanne Marie LeMieux was born on January 11, 1935, in Cloquet, Minnesota. November 22, 2010, she was reunited with her husband, Lionel LeMieux, brother, Rod Plante, parents, Thelma and Roderick Plante and great grandson, Adain Layne in heaven.

Joanne moved to the Tri-Cities as a young girl and eventually met her future husband, Lionel. They were married on November 8, 1963 and together, they raised six children. She spent many summers at her and Lionel’s boat house with their kids. She taught them how to swim, water ski, and operate the boat. Joanne’s greatest joy in life came from always having children around her—first her own, then her grandchildren, and finally the great grandchildren. The little ones always liked going to visit grandma, and enjoyed her homemade cinnamon toast with “real” butter.

Everyone knew that the place to be on any holiday was Joanne’s home. She had the ability to fix and feed an army of people at a moment’s notice. Christmas was her favorite holiday and often times, children and grandchildren would choose to stay at her house the night before Christmas so they could wake up to the joyful chaos of Christmas morning surrounded by family.

Joanne will be remembered and live in the hearts of her children, Debbie Bryant, Cindy Bentley, Lori Rivas, Darla Workman, Toni Quackenbush and Lee LeMieux, their spouses, 19 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sister, Betty McDuffee, and many friends.

A Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm Monday, November 29, at Einan’s Funeral Home. Joanne was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church; funeral services and Mass will be held there on Tuesday, November 30, at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
