Steve was born October 15, 1962 in Spokane. He lived in the Tri-Cities for 45 years, attending elementary, junior high and high school in Richland. He completed a five year apprenticeship program with the NECA. Steve was employed by IBEW as an electrician and was a dedicated member of IBEW Local 112. As a child, he was a boy scout and baseball player. As a young man, he received recognition from the Richland Fire Department for saving the lives of a young mother and her two children by pulling them from a burning house. Some of Steven's greatest attributes were his hard-working attitude, generous spirit and love for his family. He is greatly missed and loved.
Steven was the proud father of Jessica Sanders Bewlay, Angel Sanders, and Tyler Sanders. One of his greatest joys was his grandson, Aiden Juskowiak.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts and uncles and most recently his aunt, Johnnye Carlson of Galveston Island, Texas.

“GOD SPEED MY OLD FRIEND”
Barbara and family- wanted to send my heartfelt condolences to you and your family over the loss of your son. I know he had his share of struggles and he was fortunate to have a great mom and family to help him through it all. Bless you and may God comfort you always. Pat
My thoughts and prayers are with you Barb and Ron, Dan, Terry and Wendy, and Steve’s children and with Dora. I grew up with Terry as one of my best friends and knew Steve as one of his older brothers… I got to be a friend of Steve’s, too, when we all got a little older and I spent many good times with him and the rest of the Sanders Family in South Richland. I babysat his children, celebrated birthdays with his siblings, and misbehaved , too. When my sister called to tell me Wendy had contacted her with the news of Steve’s passing, I was flooded with MANY happy memories of shenanigans and good deeds. I have missed you and the rest of my extended Sanders Family ever since I moved to Seattle. Thank you, Steve, for being my friend.
Steve will be missed by those who knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with the Sanders family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole Sanders family at this truely sad time. Steve will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him. God Speed and Rest in Peace my friend.
Our love and prayers are with all the family at this sad time.We are here for you . He will be deeply missed.

——————————————————————————–
I was saddened to read about Steve’s passing. I was reading the previous “guest book” entries. So many familar names from past and present Richland South enders! One thing We all share is fond memories growing up together. Many of these memories included Steve. My brain is flooded with visions from yesteryear! Good memories that I would not change for anything! My deepest sympathy to the Sander’s family!
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. It is such a shock that Steve is not with us… but now with God. Kara, Monica
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Steve. I really only had a chance to meet him when I was a young child but I do have very fond memories of him. It is times like this that put our faith to the test. I feel that is why we have to use our faith to see us through the grief and despair that comes with tragedy. My family sends all of our love and prayers to yours.
Our deepest sympathy to all Steve’s family. May God grant you
comfort in this time of sadness.
Don Trail, IBEW 112
My thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. and Mrs. Sanders I never really knew you as Ron and Barbara…and I could never bring myself to call my Cub Scout Den Mother by her first name, just didn’t seem right, Dan, Terry and Wendy. Steve and I have been friends for over 40 years, growing up just a couple of blocks apart in S. Richland, and had the same birth-date and year. At one point we lived together in a south Richland pre-fab, and shared alot of our early lives. I knew Steve as a great person and I got to spend a lot of time with him and his family, and am glad to have been able to have those experiences. Thank you Steve for being a part of my life. Take care and watch over us all.
Not only did I have the pleasure of growing up on the same block as the Sanders’, I had the opportunity to work with Steve for a number of years at WSU Tri-Cities. He was a fun person. His personality made you want to be around him. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen Steve in a few years, but always considered him my friend. I am shocked at his passing, he was way too young to be taken already. My condolences to the entire Sanders family.
To all Sanders Family,
We are sorry for you loss.
all of you are in our prayers.
May the Lord give you comfort.
GOD BLESS, Jeff and Linda
